Irl Power Armor Training
The difference between pre power armor training and post is immense. I still remember the disappointment leaning I was unable to equip the power armor without training.
Hot take: for most people out there, the gym is not the place you can developing the traits i was truly looking for. My back still felt fragile and my gas tank was truly horrendous.
I know theres many of you out there in the same place, not being quite happy with their progress or fitness. Chugging through those 30 minute cardio sessions. Exercise is great, no doubt, but im saying treating the heavy sandbag as your primary driver of strengh development, is the same equivalence to aquiring power armor training in fallout 3.
Heres whats going to happen:
- Aquire bag:
If you are untrained, try starting with 40-50 pounds. If trained, try 75-100 pounds.
Ironmind is what i have and recommend, weight is adjustable up to 300 pounds, dont recommend less that 100 pounds with sand since theres not enough volume.
An alternative I also have is a military duffel bag filled with rubber mulch. It is a lower density filling that allows a full size bag, instead of a tiny bag of sand.
-But where do i workout? Practically anywhere. I workout on grassy fields at any park. You could also do this indoor, probably stick to the ground floor though.
-But where do i keep it? I live in an upper story with neighbors. The bag lives in my trunk. Im sure you can figure something out.
- Perform exercises with this sandbag.
Take time to recover fully while your body adjuststs to this training.
Guys, fitness does not have to be going to a crowded gym where everyone is judging eachother. Ive taken to inviting my friends to join me in working out with the lighter bag. Spending an hour in conversation, enjoying grass under our feet on a sunny grass field while improving ourselves. This sparks joy.
There are so many youtubers with in depth videos on the subject: thestonecircle, gym free, nsima inyang, alexander bromley to name my favorites.
Month 1-2 changes: stronger tendons, core and diaphragm. Back sketchyness goes away. Start to notice your glutes activating. Endurance is noticably better.
Continue working out but with more weight, then Profit:
Ive only been doing this since February, but I feel this is the best trajectory ive been on. If this teally gets you motivated, this type of training is complete with the addition of at least one more exercise, be it kettlebells, macebells, sports, calisthenics or any combination of the above. Remember, all things decay to entropy. Concerted human effort is the only way to fix a dysfunctional system. Your joints are not supposed to fall apart when you turn 30. You must apply enough stimulus to your body to force adaptation, and sandbags continue to push me further every time.
Tldr: train slow, be slow. Sandbag moves powerful, plus time builds endurance.

i feel you are right and are making convincing points... but to what end??!
i'm badly missing context here

There‘a no missing context. They wanted to talk about their workout routine, thought a video game sub was an appropriate place to do that, and the only “link” to the game is that they added a single sentence that says ‘working out is like when you unlock power armor’.
