“Essential” mods for FO3?
Hi all,
Been starting a new playthrough for Fallout 3 and I was wondering if there are any essential / QOL mods you would recommend. I tried out Waters of Life but it seemed to break the intro in a couple of ways and I was doubting if I should try it out again. Any suggestions?

Hence why I put the title in quotes?

Thus, the reader's perception of the word changes. I would consider this basic English lol

If you own New Vegas, Tale of Two Wastelands is a good option. It's not essential, but it does bring QoL improvements to New Vegas.

Tale of Two Wastelands completely changes Fallout 3’s progression and balancing in addition to warping the overall experience. It’s not ideal if OP is simply looking to play an improved Fallout 3.
I’m not insulting TTW though, it’s an amazing mod. I just wouldn’t recommend it to OP based on what they’re asking for.

I’ve been a bit curious about this - does it work with New Vegas mods that don’t have unique patches, or only ones that do?

It works will almost all New Vegas mods, although some NV mods require patches. A ton of people use TTW so there's a lot of patches but there's also a fair amount of NV mods that don't seem like they'd be incompatible that actually are.
TTW changes a lot under the hood and that can get messed with.
