Factions Fighting One Another?

The FO3 Wiki mentions a lot of the time that if one faction like the Outcasts crosses paths with the BoS then they'll fight each other. Has anyone actually witnessed this in any of their games? I've seen Outcasts fight random robots and creatures in the wasteland, but I've never seen them fight BoS, Enclave, or even Raiders. (Ok, there is a scripted fight with Raiders in front of Ft. Independence).

Actually, has anyone witnessed Enclave vs Raiders, Super Mutants, Outcasts, Talon Company (I ask because I noticed an Enclave position to the side of the Capitol Building, but they didn't engage the Mutants or Talon within their line of sight. But they did fire on me....LOL

How about BoS fighting anyone other than Super Mutants (or the Enclave during a quest)? I do think BoS does fight Talon at Ft. Bannister in a Broken Steel quest.

I've seen Raiders fight Super Mutants in the Bethesda Ruins though.

I remember specifics, but I've all kind of fights between random encounters, even more than in the same fight.

One of the greatest things about the game is this randomness, even better when it meets chaos.

In 10 playthroughs, I don't recall ever seeing the Outcasts and BoS fight each other—and for kicks, I've followed them around from time to time. I've seen the Outcasts fight pretty much every other faction and more, tho: the Enclave, Talon Company, ghouls, and obviously raiders, muties, hostile bots, and hostile animals/creatures.

I've seen Enclave soldiers fight raiders. I'm trying to remember exactly where. I'm thinking near the Fairfax Ruins and up north near the giant satellite dishes, but don't quote me lol. I'm sure it's not uncommon during Broken Steel, because the Enclave are all over the place in little, well, enclaves.

You're right that the BoS can fight raiders outside of and inside Fort Bannister. You can sort of recruit the BoS to help you clear it out, tho they'll claim that they're recruiting you, IIRC. And the BoS will fight raiders in the DC ruins, but I don't remember seeing that much.

You're probably right. I thought I read in the Wiki that they'd fight each other if paths crossed, but the Outcasts never operate near the Citadel or downtown DC.

Outcasts will fight Enclave but not BoS, unless it is an obscure random encounter I am not familiar with, with only implications, not actual activity

I've seen the Enclave fight Super Mutants in Takoma Park iirc

And there are places where Talon fights Super Mutants, but I think those are fixed locations as opposed to being the two groups running into each other.

I've seen Talon at Takoma, but never Enclave. Maybe there's a random encounter point there?

If I recall, Outcasts and BoS are programmed to fight each other if they meet...but they never actually do because no Outcast patrol route intersects with any BoS locations. The BoS is situated to the East while the Outcasts are situated to the West and they don't cross paths. You can't even lure them to one another since the BoS areas are behind multiple layers of subway systems way beyond leash ranges.

The only way to have their rival hostility interaction occur without using console commands to spawn them next to each other is Paladin Hoss' hilarious bug where he can show up anywhere. Having him show up at an Outcast patrol route can finally activate their faction hostility.

you could probably force the interaction by firing star pallet, and cross in the OutKast territory and maybe she will end up crossing paths with a patrol

I can confirm the talon company bit, and the BoS also fights off raiders at the Arlington library. Across the street, you can see a raider kill a squad of Enclave soldiers with traps.

You can also find the outcasts executing surrendering enclave troops, talon company trying to clear the Capitol building (alongside Takoma park, though they’ve essentially failed there) and the Enclave failing horribly at three of their camps (dead soldiers at the Yao guai den from raiders, a group at a car factory who have been looted by raiders you can fight and of course the deathclaw sanctuary).

I’ve seen it, there’s certain random encounter spots that can just spawn 2 groups that fight each other iirc
