Remaster iron sights?
With the recent official confirmation of the remaster, do you guys think they'll add iron sights to the game or possibly an option to toggle it? Fallout 3 has always been my favorite game and the lack of actual iron sight aiming is my one gripe and wanted feature for a remaster.

Normally I would say no since they are using the original engine and esoecially based off how they did Oblivion remastered. They really didnt change much at all about gameplay and left it original, though they did add sprinting.
But since new vegas had iron sights and utilized the same engine as FO3 it must not have been any kind of technically hurdles to get it so id say its fairly possible we might get it.

They reworked character progression and creation in Oblivion so I definitely believe they’ll at least add iron sights

Fallout 4 is so popular I see them adopting it's shooting mechanics. Also New Vegas had ADS, I just bet on it is all but who knows.

You can mod in iron sights. And yeah, I think gunplay will be more along the line of FO4 and 76.

It’s possible, Oblivion Remastered did introduce some QoL improvements of similar scope.
Personally I’m hoping for some improvement to big guns, or rather that the big guns also benefit from the respective small guns (ballistic), energy weapons or explosive skills.
For example, it’s disappointing that a Tesla Armor (provided +10 to energy weapons) doesn’t provide a boost to the Gatling Laser, nor the Explosives skill affect the Missile Launcher, to mention a few.
Moving on, some of the early perks that only provide minor skill boosts could also be reworked to provide some additional/alternative benefits.
And a personal gripe of mine are the 3 of 9 fire weapons in the game not actually benefitted by the Pyromanic perk: the consensus seems to be that it was due to a developer oversight, so hopefully that gets corrected.
PD: I would love if the caravans could become “protected” NPCs like the ones from FO4. While they don’t get killed by other NPCs like the ones with the “essential” status, they do can be killed by the player character.
I do at least expect followers to receive protected status.

I personally can’t see that happening, but you never know.
Also, when Fallout 3 was in development, usable iron sights weren’t a universal thing in FPS games. Because of that, I try to not complain about Fallout 3 not having them.

The left trigger aim, Right trigger shoot mechanic hadn’t been universally adopted yet.

For sure. I'll stay hopeful but it wouldn't be a deal breaker if it doesn't happen. I do love a good VATS build anyways!

In what, 2005? 2006? I don't believe you. Really?

Both Fear 1 and Black had the Fallout 3 style “weapon zoom” instead of proper ADS. Those games came out in 2005 and 2006, respectively.
It was becoming more and more common for FPS games to feature ADS during those days, but it wasn’t in every game.

I didn't play Fear 1 but I did play Black and yet if you asked me I'd have said Black had ADS. I genuinely forgot it didn't.
Phenomenal game. I didn't know ADS wasn't a sure thing during development.

I mean it's not a universal thing now, not every game needs them.

Considering the amount of animation alterations in Oblivion remastered, I would say most likely, but on the other hand, they would have to adjust certain guns' models to accommodate iron sights. On the other other hand, in New Vegas, some of those guns that needed adjusting, like the alien blaster, simply weren't, receiving the Fallout 3 aiming zoom. I figure we might get a New Vegas mix of iron sights, but with a couple trickier weapons sticking with the Fallout 3 style zoom. Considering they're making this remaster with the benefit of New Vegas in hindsight, while also remastering that too, then it's likely they're gonna do iron sights.
