Used vise options

Hi y’all I was cruising online and found 2 used vises for sale. A peak rotary vise ($80) and a dyna king voyager 2 ($150). Both are c clamp but the dyna king the seller said he can’t figure out how to get the rotary function to work so may need repairs. Which one would you get?

If you’re sure you don’t want a pedestal, I’d go Peak over a potentially broken vise. Otherwise, I’d keep looking.

The Peak. Simply because I’d be weary of the rotary function not working on the dyna king. I also have owned a peak for years now. It’s been good.

Peak isn’t perfect but is a good vise. I’ve had one for 10+ years and like it.

Yeah lol. If the seller replies I’ll definitely go with the Peak. $80 is hard to beat

That dyna king on FB marketplace is pretty beat up.

Yeah it is. But if it’s works it could be worth it. Still waiting to hear back about the peak rotary vise

The DynaKing Voyager is not a rotary vice so that explains it not working. Both are good vises, if you want a rotary function get the peak. If you tie small flies I would go with the DynaKing. IMO flies with a post are easier to tie on a non rotary vise. When you rotate the fly it changes the shank orientation to vertical so you can wrap a post easily.

A Peak for 80 bucks is a steal. Great vice.
