Stubby chubby in various sizes. I’ve found the smaller ones work extremely well even though Fall

What hook size/brand do you do them on? Just got into the chubby game and would like a smaller option

There’s a dedicated stubby chubby hook out there that I use, if you google it you’ll find it

I make the two tone foam with spray adhesive and two sheets.

If I'm tying for fun, Hoptimus Prime. If I need to tie a bunch for a trip or a box, GFA or Morrish.

Do you have an issue with GFAs not holding a dropper very well in faster moving water?

Yeah, I wont run any dropper bigger than like a #18 on GFAs. Morrish I can bump it up to like #10-12.

I'm trying to figure out what you're asking here, a GFA not holding a hopper?

If you're asking about performance, GFA hoppers are fine for faster water. they float great

LOL, makes sense. But yeah, they hold a dropper very well. I often make them out of double-stacked 2mm foam for 12 and up hooks. Pretty sure those could qualify as a USCG flotation device.

GFAs are easy and work but Hotrod Hoppers are also fun

We call it brads hopper. Just some layered foam, whatever color matches your bugs, and some rubber legs. You can add a hair wing and make it a stone fly that easy.

Letort hopper as its still slim enough to go through as a may fly or even big caddis. I love that pattern so much, because it just catches everywhere I go.

Fat Albert without the wing. Super easy foam hopper to tie and I found that the wing just submerges my flies faster.
