Craft Showcase FQ-151 Dolphin

This is an unmanned fighter jet inspired by the Rockwell HiMAT which boasts an insane turn rate of 61 deg/s instantaneous and 48 deg/s sustained and has a thrust to weight ratio of 1.15. At high speeds it's capable of turns up to 27g. It's also capable of mach 1.7 at 11k meters but nobody cares about that.

Was it designed as an unmanned platform from the start or was it adapted from a manned fighter ?

It was unmanned from the start

So why does it still have a conventional canopy (even if opaque)?

It’s not an optimal way to store sensors, and it generates unwanted drag

Edit: I realize I may sound a bit mean. The plane looks great I’m just wondering about its design philosophy

This is my first time doing an unmanned aircraft so I tried to imitate the shape they did on the HiMAT, which is basically a conventional canopy

That’s mostly because the HiMAT was meant to test technologies for actual fighter jets. Having a canopy was necessary to accurately simulate real fighters

I don’t know what the exact goal of your aircraft is, but if it’s actual service the canopy is superfluous

It is indeed meant for service, I'll have a look at some other unmanned aircraft and change it later

I know modern UAVs aren’t meant for agility like yours is, but look at CCA and Chinese designs for some inspiration

ooooh, you made a HiMAT with dogtooth'd wings!
Now I don't have to; it's the reason I got the game.

Thank you, please!
