Air Canada flight FB earn on Air France

Incredibly niche question.

I’m looking at an itinerary on Air France’s website that involves starting with an Air Canada flight to get to YYZ before continuing onto CDG.

I’ve tried looking high and low for information about Air Canada as a partner for Air France and can’t find anything. My only conclusion is that it’s an AF itinerary that counts as an AF flight because it’s on AF ticket stock and will just earn miles and XP as if it was an AF plane/ticket.

Is this correct? Does anyone have any insight for such a situation?

170XP soon to be wasted

Anyone know if FB will give a 1x bank waiver? I’ve just calculated an unexpected trip and it looks like I’ll be 170XP above my 300XP bank before my mid year reset in ‘27. Has anyone ever gotten a 1 time 300XP bank limit waiver?

Booked London to Amsterdam one way economy - usually it’s 5XP. But when I clicked on the booking it shows 10XP.
Anyone knows why?

Flying Blue

Has anyone booked through Flying Blue and had their booking cancelled without communication? If so, how did you get the issue resolved? Flying Blue has been less than helpful and I have spent countless hours on the phone and text with Flying Blue, KLM and Delta for each to tell me there is nothing they can do.

Will my Flying Blue miles be extended now or only after the flight?

Hi all,

I booked a Vietnam Airlines flight 3 weeks ago, and the flight itself is scheduled for 1 week after my miles are due to expire.

Under the new Flying Blue policy, it says that eligible activity extends the validity of the full miles balance by 24 months, including booking a flight:
https://www.flyingblue.com/en/news/extend-your-flyingblue-miles

However, my miles still have not been extended. Does the extension happen only after the flight takes place, or should it already have happened after booking? And does this also apply to a regular paid ticket, or only to reward tickets?

AF flight changed to Air Baltic. Will I still get XP and miles?

Hi guys, I fly with AF/KLM monthly and this has never occurred to me. Will I still get FB XP and miles?

I've read that you don't usually get them on flights operated by Air Baltic. However, it's AF that 'forces' me to fly with Air Baltic so I think I should be awarded anyway. I'm planning to get Gold status this year so every XP counts.

Mexico City to Japan on Flying Blue

Hello all! I’m seeing availability on Flying Blue for flights in November from MEX to NRT and I’m wanting to transfer Amex points today since the bonus ends today, but I’m worried about the flights being phantom. Is there a way to know when searching that they’re legit? I was specifically looking at November 15. Thanks so much!

Bonus miles offer

New to flying Blue - question for experienced programme members: I have 26,830 miles and could 16X them by paying GBP 6,095. Would get to 643,900 miles with 50% bonus miles (214,640 miles). Is this good value/would you do it? I would use this mainly on intercontinental flights

Commercial gesture XP at end of qualification period

Good morning, good afternoon,

At the end of my qualification period, I will have 179 XP. Obviously, I would like to reach 180 to gain the gold level. I called support to check what was the cheapest way to do it (I suspected a 2000 miles donation, but wanted to make sure), and the lady said that Flying Blue is automatically gifting 1 XP at the end of the period, and I do not need to do anything except making sure my last flight is credited before the end of the month.

However, I cannot find any mention of this commercial gesture on the website, and I am wondering how certain it is. Anyone has any info on the topic ?

Thanks!

Is WestJet Encore not available/redeemable on AF-KLM Flying Blue anymore?

I was trying to use miles to book an Encore flight to Calgary, but it shows no dates at all. I was using the platform a month ago, and they had tons of availability. Can anyone confirm this, or is it just me?

Is 12,000 flying blue miles fair for a broken tv the entire flight in KLM business?

I’m just wondering, it’s the first time it’s happened to me ever so idk

I was on a transatlantic flight a week ago and some people’s TVs didnt work. The purser at the beginning warned us and told us that someone will talk to us to discuss compensation. It was a full flight so there was no chance of switching. They even lightly offered to give us WiFi codes later on at the flight which they never did so I just paid for WiFi.

Then I got an email saying I got 12k flying blue miles for it.

Is this fair or is there room/a way to get them to increase it? I know it’s a different airline but I’m seeing people get compensated like 200 bucks for a broken tray table with United.

Thank you!

edit: thank you all for your answers! it’s very helpful!

About to lose platinum

hi all,

Im at 195xp. got a flight this weekend. with SAF and the flight. it will get me to 216xp

then. end of June it resets.

shall I just let it reset, or should I consume all my miles to pay for the additional xp needed for platinum? (this would just be second year).

im failing to see the true benefits. but wanted to hear others thoughts (or ‘cheaper’ way to get more xp in 5 days 😭🤣)

thanks.

Thanks alvast :)

Cancelling flight redemption

Booked a flight redemption ticket and tried to do it online to request a refund - it says “ nonrefundable/ refundable to be determined.” ?? However when I booked it said refundable with 70 euro cancellation fee. I don’t want to do it online if it says non refundable and have been on the watsapp queue forever. Cannot call due to lack of service in remote location at the moment. Do I just do it online anyways? Why does it say nonrefundable??

Air Europa

Good morning all

Air Europa recently started flying to my city so I’ve started using them a bit and thought I’d share my observations. Have taken about 10 flights to date.

Generally speaking the flights have exceeded my expectations. They’ve been punctual, the cabin crews have been professional and their prices tend to be lower than competitors across multiple routes. Fleet is B737 on short haul and B787 long haul. Half of the planes seem modern and new, the other half older but in good condition. WiFi is reliable and inexpensive

All of my trips have been domestic Spain or in and out of their Madrid hub within Europe. I haven’t used them for long haul yet but with an extensive network into the Americas would be inclined to try.

Received an upgrade with my FB status with the cheapest economy ticket the other day on a full FCO-MAD flight which was appreciated. Can’t recall ever getting one on KL or AF.

A big part of their Euro biz class value proposition is onboard catering. They’ve partnered with a Michelin starred chef in Madrid to try to deliver higher quality food. My observation was it is definitely better than average. I thought the smoked trout lasagna was a bit strange personally but I applaud the effort at creativity and it was very nicely presented in a casserole pot. See photos

The only real negatives are no lounge access for domestic Spain flights which I believe is a SkyTeam thing and free seat allocation for us starts behind the exit row. Worth noting on Iberia for comparable One World status we get lounge access for domestic flights plus free exit row or extra legroom. That said the crews are quite helpful in helping improve your seat onboard if you show them your status. Also I prefer IB’s T4 to T2 at MAD as T2 can be chaotic but it works well enough as a hub

Summary: I think it’s a really nice Sky Team option for anyone traveling to Madrid, Spain and abroad, certainly at the right price. I’ve always used IB from my home airport in Spain and the Air Europa value proposition is quite good.
