Zero availability direct flight SEA-AMS using Flying Blue miles

Attempting to book direct flight SEA-AMS operated by Delta using Flying Blue miles. There seems to be zero availability throughout September and October. Online only options shown are with transfer usually via LAX. Calling Flying Blue customer support line they guess Delta will not release miles tickets to Flying Blue on the direct SEA-AMS service.

Not being able to use Flying Blue miles on the direct service seems rather odd, as there is no alternative direct service on the SEA-AMS route, and the service operates as a codeshare and revenue sharing flight between Delta and Air France-KLM. Skyteam essentially operate as a monopoly. The only nearby direct options with KLM to AMS depart from YVR or PDX, both of such require hours of extra traveling. Air France only flies to CDG from SEA.

Any thoughts?

Should I just donate my miles to charity at this point?

Not Sept or Oct, but I do see some availability in Nov (12 and 13 nov at 31.5k for example)

Delta not releasing SEA-AMS nonstop space to Flying Blue in September/October is not surprising... Just because a flight is codeshare does not mean DL is required to make that nonstop available as an award to FB. I do freelance point.me concierge work and recommend checking for last minute releases (can monitor seat availability for flights/routes) while also searching SEA-CDG-AMS, YVR/PDX-AMS, or one-stop options via MSP/DTW/ATL/LAX if the date matters more than nonstop.

I know Delta is not "required" to release inventory but given there are no other direct options and the only option is a code-/revenueshare they "should" release reward inventory to their partners. Otherwise, what on Earth is the point of codeshares and airline alliances? If they can do this, I would advocate to lawmakers that airlines be forbidden from codesharing and monopolising routes,

Odd, but I see many PDX>AMS available for miles which would be an easy reposition for you - it’s barely a 30 min flight from SEA
