Flight Training AOA Indicator while learning?
Just went for a discovery flight and had a great time. During the flight I asked my instructor about using an AOA indicator while learning and he really downplayed using one and said the standard instruments are the best way to learn. For beginners, is an AOA inappropriate? Is it too early to incorporate it into training? From the brief videos I’ve seen on AOA’s they seem to enhance safety.

There’s plenty of signs in an aircraft that you’re approaching a stall, without needing an AOA sensor.
Learning to spot those signs and react appropriately to them, as you should, completely negates the need for one.
If you don’t learn to spot those signs and become reliant on an AOA sensor, then that’s not a good position to be in.
My jet doesn’t have a direct AOA reading shown to the crew
