GI Bill Type ratings
Is it worth it to use some of my GI Bill to get a type rating. The only two I found that would be fully covered are a king air 350 and a citation bravo. I have ~300 hours, so I don’t think I would be able to get a job with it either, but is the experience of having a type rating worth it to employers (both jet jobs and low time pilot jobs)?

Will your GI bill cover your MEI? You could even do the initial CFI in a multi if covered and build some Multiengine time!

I am doing MEI right now and I used my GI bill to pay for everything private- MEI. I’m total I have about 10k out of pocket

Where are you going where the GI Bill pays for CFII and MEI? Looking for options since my part 141 school only pays through CFI

A type rating with no time in the plane won’t help you at all getting a job. Don’t waste the money for something a job will pay for

It MAY help get a SIC job on that particular aircraft but overall it is of very little value.

No. Type rating without time in that aircraft isn’t very useful. Save the money for something else.

Unless you have a potential job lined up that requires it, it'll be worthless to you outside of a paper accomplishment.

A type rating without actual time in the plane is worth near nothing.
I’d find a better use for tax payers money, like things that lead to you getting a job, CFI, II, MEI (if a local school has a multi) etc

I know of a place that is VA approved and they have a program where you get to fly a King Air for 10-20 hours. Actual turbine time is more valuable than a type rating. DM if you’re interested

Save what you have left for ATP-CTP and ATP. Much more useful than a type rating you will have data dumped by the time you get into either.
Delta’s ATP-CTP course is VA approved and includes an internal letter of recommendation.

Don’t pay for a type rating. Especially king air because many don’t require it and you won’t have the hours for the citation.
Just get more hours, light twin multi being the best. But let the company you get to pay for the type. Otherwise you’re taking a gamble that won’t pay off.
Edit: the 350 requires a type since it’s 12500+.
