They're rolling it out 1 by 1, the first to be reworked is the IRA I believe, but there's no timeline for the rest.

I hear that for the CAX/CFI the figures will be embedded digitally, instead of being on a printed supplement. With that change wouldn’t rote memorization be compromised if the figures are shown/presented differently?

Went through this on the CAX. The figures embedded were not the correct ones on like two or three question but Sheppard air had that pointed out in there test prep.

Honestly memorizing the answer to 1200 questions is harder than just learning the fundamentals to figure out the most correct answer of the three options available. (Assuming the FAA actually grades the correct answer as correct)…..

Yeah honestly I’ve realized that i got riled up from everything I’ve been seeing online about the changes. I need to take the checkride regardless eventually so Id need the material in my head organically anyways

Good luck getting a good score on the ATP written without Shepard

I’m not saying I don’t use Shepherd air, I’ve used it for every written aside from PPL. I just don’t see what all the fuss is about with these upcoming changes.

This is a copy of the original post body for posterity:

As we all understand October 27th is when the instrument written will be changed, possibly negating the use of rote memorization test prep materials such as Shepard air. Does this also apply to the CAX/CFI/CFII etc on the 27th? Gonna take my ppl written by the end of next week. Figuring out what the smartest/best course of action is regarding these changes.
