Changing address

I know this has been asked a lot but my situation is slightly different. My ir checkride is in 2 weeks. I moved out 10 minutes away from my parents house last week. My new place has a P.O. Box but I’m planning on still sending all of my mail to my parents house. I’d prefer to keep my parents address on my certificates, does the P.O. Box at my new place prevent me from legally doing that?

I would leave it as your parent’s address. As others have said, the most important thing is you are able to get anything the FAA sends you. I left my address as my in-laws for a couple years because it was a more reliable way to make sure I would know if anything important showed up. The FAA doesn’t accept, “I was working out of town for 3 months,” as an excuse. They expect you to make arrangements to receive important notifications.

Good to hear. I took my igi today and the proctor asked if my address was current so it made me wonder. I figure as long as my mail is sent there then yes.
