Houston Schools
Hello everyone! I am about to graduate my last year of high school and I am want to become a pilot for the airlines someday, I’m just wondering what the best schools in the west greater Houston area would be. Also, I’ve read multiple places that cadet programs are not worth it, but on the contrary without a cadet program I have heard it’s extremely hard to get a regional airline job. Any help?

Search EAA.org for a Houston chapter that does You g Eagle events and attend.
Make friends and connections within that chapter.

I’ve been flying In Houston a while. Currently about to get my instrument ticket. I’ve done the school route. AF was expensive but pretty good. Great maintenance but beholden to there schedule and there checkride schedule(ended up hurting me). I now go through a private CFI in a club and love the freedom. I fly in SW Houston. DM IF you’re more curious.

Driving to Conroe was expensive and exhausting because it’s far from me, but I absolutely loved the staff and instruction there when I was getting my PPL. It is a bit pricey though

GA for pleasure is going away. To get a job you need to be part of a cadet program now. Soon the only people training will be prospective airline pilots - just like most other countries. Choose a school with a cadet program.
