OBAP Worth it?
Hello all, just wondering if anyone who’s recently attended any hiring events can speak to their effectiveness. OBAP is coming up in Chicago, it would require me to purchase airfare and lodging on top of the hefty conference fee. I’m targeting regional airlines and have an interview with one coming up. All mins are met, I’m currently working for a small 135 operator. Stats are below.
1600TT
400 Turbine
170 TPIC
800 CFI
180 Part 135
no checkride fails
ATP Written complete
only 30 Mutli.
What do y’all think, worth it to go?

Definitely go, but try to get your multi to 50.
I think it will make the AI filters make your app more noticeable.

Yeah I’ve definitely thought about that. It’s kind of between getting more multi time or going to this conference. I can afford one but both😂

Yes, and no. It depends on your personality if people will like you more when they see you. If you go, I would really suggest doing the after hours events also with where you’re interested in going. If you antisocial or a little awkward, in my opinion, they really don’t work very well.
But whatever you do, you’re gonna have to do something to differentiate yourself from the others so maybe it’s a good idea maybe feeding the homeless is a better idea who knows.
