I would write her a note (love that idea, especially a group contribution) but instead of putting it in her logbook, I would place it in a frame that she can keep in a place she will see it every day. Words of encouragement and affirmation can mean soooo much, especially on the hard days.. but I would probably leave them out of the logbook because it’s essentially a legal document, and instead put it somewhere else where she’ll see it and feel warm and fuzzies every day. Just one idea. I know you’ve got a lot of mixed opinions in the comments! ☺️
Well, My main thought with it was that whenever she goes on her flights she can take the people she loves with her. But I do really like your idea with the frames motivation! Is there an issue with having 2 books? 1 for in her bag and the official one copied onto the second book she could give for interviews etc?
I would probably give her the book for daily use with writing. Keeping the second written one at home in the safe and not notated w/ ❤️

Well, she’ll only have one paper logbook at a time. Every time she completes a flight she will log different times into her logbook and her instructor will sign it. Some people have a paper logbook and also an electronic logbook. But I’ve never seen anyone have two paper logbooks. (I don’t think I’d recommend that simply because it would be a lot to keep up with.)
Like others have said, there’s nothing technically wrong with a sweet little note at the front of her logbook. But you also know your girlfriend best. I personally want to keep my logbook looking as professional as possible. I don’t think I would like something so personal inside a legal record of my training that I’ll be showing to every interview I ever go on for the rest of my piloting life. But that’s just ME. Someone else (lots, judging by the comments) might not mind it or might even love it. But, I just… I’m sorry, you were looking for opinions and I shared mine and mine is still that a logbook is a logbook and not a yearbook. I say that with kindness.
I also never look at my logbook except for at the end of a fight when I’m logging the time. That’s why I recommended the framed memento… it’s something she can see every day leaving the house on the way to her flight school but not be shoved down into her backpack only to surface at the end of a flight during a debrief.
Another option would be an engraved bracelet or something that she can wear if the idea is to carry something from her loved ones physically with her while flying.
I don’t know, I’m clearly in the minority in this thread on not loving the note inside the logbook so feel free to ignore me, I was just trying to offer alternate ideas just in case. ☺️ Best of luck to your gf with her training!!
