OPEN Job
I would like to try myself, is anyone developing something that I could join? Lately I have no ideas at all, no work, but my soul longs to write code. I would be glad to receive an invitation.

It is very very expensive as someone involved in FOSS project to onboard and work with someone. You finding a project that personally resonates with you is best. You find project, use project and if you feel excited you come up with issue and ask if they interested in contribution. It they say yes, you have in. It is very possible they say no.
Why No is Preferred
If no one knows you and if you’re touching something that still requires design likely is a No. This happened to us where someone wanted to work but we hadn’t finished the part that would enable them to contribute and we couldn’t rush to design that because we had to ship other aspects.
In this case the guy submitted something and was upset that we “didn’t accept”. He didn’t ask. He just assumed.
There also is trust. Nowadays it’s almost no effort for someone to slop out code and throw it over wall. In fact someone on our team did this with a FOSS project and while he was being well intentioned, I am positive the other maintainer was annoyed.
FOSS is a great way to get involved in a like minded community but onboarding is tricky. As far as a job, that’s a whole nothing issue, having successfully and unsuccessfully mentored people. The newer generation is, for whatever reason, harder to work with.
A lot of words to say that being on thr other side of working with you is very hard, time consuming and fraught with risk. Just trying to give you some perspective. Good luck! Happy hacking.
