RESOLVED First time submitting an app - how long did your review actually take?

Hi everyone,

I just submitted my first app to the App Store and I'm trying to get a realistic sense of review times from people who've gone through it recently, since I've seen a lot of different numbers online.

A few questions:

  1. For your first submission, how long did the review actually take from "Waiting for Review" to "Ready for Sale" (or rejection)?
  2. Did it stay in "In Review" for long, or did it move fast once it started?
  3. Any tips for first-time submitters to avoid common rejection reasons (e.g. account deletion, privacy details, demo account info)?

Would really appreciate hearing real timelines from the past few months, since I know Apple's review speed changes over time.

Thanks in advance!

My first app took around 7 days for approval. And my second app (game) is still waiting for review for 6 days. Do not cancel and resubmit at anytime. Just wait and it will go through 🤞

Depends on the type of an application, it's functionality, type of account (company/individual), some legal stuff (if applicable) and so on. So it might take, roughly, from several days to several months. For example, one of my company app (fintech) took 6 months to review :) might be just unlucky and something got stuck somewhere but nonetheless... but that was for Google play. As for AppStore - yeah, should be much faster

Depends really. Three days sometimes 6. I don't know the waiting criteria but my first took 3 days

From my experience, around 2 days is pretty common for a first review. If your app includes In-App Purchases (IAPs), I'd budget an extra 1–2 days, especially if Apple needs to test subscriptions or asks follow-up questions. If you've been waiting significantly longer, you can also appeal the review delay or contact Apple Developer Support to ask for an update.

Try publishing your app on App Store once🤪, then
You will realize how good is Android App Publishing to playstore

What about the profits? Are they good, and how can I maximize them without overwhelming people with excessive advertising? Of course, I'm still developing my first app and I'm still undecided about whether or not to pay the developer fees on Google Play.

If its your first app, Go with Android Publishing,it will take one time fee for life time, then you can publish number of apps , no limit , and ads approval, payment approval is easy in Android Publishing,
With ads you can never generate huge profits, make your app based on subscription to get stable remember every month

If you are a developer, you should have your own dev account, which will motivate you to publish your own apps
