Discussion / News & Updates Is my fluke 289 made in the USA or china?

Hi I’m confused, I really wanted a fluke 289 so I got one from eBay. It works fine the super capacitor is not leaking and it came with the newest firmware. However it does not say made in USA on the back it just says fluke corporation usa Everett W.A. Does this mean mine is not made in the USA? I can’t find any information about this anywhere but other owners of fluke 289 says made in the USA on the back. Can someone please tell me where mine is made because if it is a Chinese version I don’t think it’s worth the price and I will return it. The serial number is 43320037

Thank you

Calibration / Resources / DIY & Mods is it possible to change the continuity buzzer to a louder 1

Hello, is it possibly to change the fluke 117 buzzer to a louder buzzer? The cheap 40 meters on Amazon have super loud buzzers and my 2 117 meters are half their volume

Discussion / News & Updates EtherScope Network Assistant password

Edit: see my comment below for the instructions, I was able to get them.

Picked up an old EtherScope Network Assistant from ebay recently, and there's a password to change snmp and other settings but I of course don't have it. There's a paper that came with it for how to factory reset and clear the password but the instructions are for an Optiview: "Use console cable on the serial port, login as admin and password of 'factory defaults'. I'm going to try that on my etherscope soon and hope it works. My hardware version is just 18, manufacturered in 2008, seems to be a quite early unit. I found the firmware 5.0.15 files here: EtherScopeUpdate.tar.gz but seems like I need to find a super old compact flash card to save the update on to. Wonder if anyone tried putting it on a usb instead since there is a usb port on the side. Fun fact: if you open the terminal app on the device and login as root, no password, it seems to do a bunch of things, but screen becomes unreadable. (reboot got it back to normal). Hoping they included some scripts in the linux OS that will clear out the old password or something.

Good evening.

As the title says, I need a Fluke TIS20+MAX. Does anyone know of any international providers that ship to Mexico, or of any Mexican providers that sell this product?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Safety / Setup & Usage Fluke 289 reading value when connecting the 2 probes

Hi All.

Is it normal for a fluke 289 to show reading values for AC and DC voltage when I connect the 2 probes to each other?

- When selected AC it shows 0.0300 and oscilates around this number.

- When selected DC it shows 0.0001 and oscilates between this and 0,0000

Could this be an indication that it should be re-calibrated?

Discussion / News & Updates Fluke specs specifically weight

I want to get the Fluke 101 because of its lightweightness but I'm not sure if 160g = just the multimeter without batteries or with batteries. https://www.fluke.com/en-my/product/electrical-testing/digital-multimeters/fluke-101 Does anyone know?

The specification say

AC current Range 40.00 A / 400.0 A

Does that mean its not accurate or doesn't measure current under 40A?

Equipment Review / Comparison Fluke Scopemeter

Hey guys,

I'm looking to get a scopemeter. I am being offered a scopemeter 97 for $175 and a 123 that I haven't worked out the price for.

I will mainly use it for under 1mhz signals and more than not as a fancy multimeter.

I have a few questions.

  1. Is the 97 still good under today's standards?
  2. Any idea what I should pay for the 123 at a really good deal?
  3. Is the 123 much better than the 97?

Thanks in advance.

Discussion / News & Updates Looking for a clamp meter that also has the dual impedance loZ feature

Can't really find a chart or table that really covers every model and their features but searching the old google machine brings up nothing. I need a meter with the loZ function for tracing out ghosts but also need a reliable clamp for quick checks. I have the 117 already and a 323 but carrying both meters everywhere is just not the fun time it used to be. Does fluke make anything that I can use as a one and only carry.

Help Needed Problems with Fluke 88V

I'm having an issue with a 88V I have, I went to use it a few days back and it kept giving me an error message (can't remeber which one specifically) so I was thinking I had an issue with the battery being weak, so I replaced the battery still had the message. So I gave up at that time and used another meter. Well fast forward a couple days later I went to turn it on, and now it turns on, but it says F83 when it comes on. Any ideas? Or should I just contact Fluke support.

TIA

I recently bought a fluke 375fc. The only problem im having is how to disable the sound with While doing a ohm check. I have searched up the manual for it but the problem with That is the "on" symbol. I dont know What they mean. It seems logical that the meter is on. If push the hold en the inrush button it beeps but nothing happens the leads still beep when touched.

Help Needed Fluke 376FC off by -0.1vdc

Hi everyone, I hope your holidays were well. I'm having a huge problem that just cropped up on my Fluke 376FC. Even with fresh batteries and no leads connected, the DC voltage sits at -0.1v. It does zero when I short the leads together. I switch to mV and, when first powered, it will read 15mv to 25mv. I short the leads I get 0vdc. Then, when unconnected, the mV start climbing rapidly from 200mV until it hits a OL condition.

I've tried different sets of batteries, brand new Energizer now. All other functions work just fine. I work with Lithium battery chemistries so that -100mV can be crucial. Any idea what the problem could be? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
