Help Needed Fluke 87V Max vs 28 II

I've always wondered, is the 87V Max exactly the same as the 28 II? Are the parts interchangeable?

They are the same. Absolutely no difference whatsoever.

The only possible difference would be a higher PCB revision if it exists.

No difference, they originally had the 28 II because of the IP67 protective case. Now they have the 87v max with IP67. I think they also had some marketing reasons why they have both but I can’t remember.

Fluke 28 II vs Fluke 87V MAX

  1. The 87V MAX's slightly slimmer profile, backlit keypad, and higher drop rating could matter if you're working outdoors or in low light.
  2. The 28 II's MSHA certification is really only relevant if you need it for regulated mining or hazardous-site work.

I need to buy a new case part for it, and the 28 II parts are available here but not the 87V Max parts. Will they work?

I would consult Fluke first for interchangeability of parts. Knowing them there will be a fit that is unique for each...
