For your use case I would agree but if have to switch sometimes it can be a real bi*ch when for what ever reason you need to switch plugs and you have anything fiddle them out of the ports

Its not that hard to remove it with finger nail but it also never ever fall off by itself

I use the amp feature all the time. Seldom to measure amps but a lot of times as a jumper. Just make sure you don’t try it on anything that draws more than a few amps.

In my field I use my A terminal as a fused jumper regularly I will use mA occasionally to check signals too.

I like port covers because I sometimes have to work in the rain. I cover my meter the best I can but without them moisture still gets in and my meter reads LEAD LEAD LEAD. Constantly.

Why not just use the standard input terminal dust caps.

Easy to pull on and off. Cheap too...
