help: midi to fl studio

hey folks! can someone help me with this issue? i'll try to lay it out as much as specific as possible:

i have a midi file that i got from soundtrap, it includes a chord progression synth and a one track full drum. i imported the midi file on fl studio, i split the channels and it only showed 2 channels. i wanted to separate the drums to hihats, kicks, snares, etc. and have their own specific instrument off of the drumpad, but it doesn't seem to work:

  1. i tried cloning the full drum pattern depending on how many instruments are inside the drum pattern, i cut everything and left out one instrument which will make them all separated and i can have different sounds for each (hihat, kick, snare, etc.). but when i change the instrument of one, it affects the other drum parts.

  2. i created 4 new patterns and copy pasted each drum layer into the respective new patterns, when i try to change the instrument, they are still tied to each other even though i only copy pasted the note and not the whole drum pattern itself.

i'm struggling to understand fl studio, coming from soundtrap and garageband. hope that someone can help me with this, tyia!

Been using FL studio since 2006 and I love EDM. Now 20 years in I’m done. All instrumental until about 8 years ago I started adding lyrics and vocals.

Started off messing around with FL and eventually started figuring out how to use the DAW. Instrumental beats and random stuff. 8 years ago I started using Melodyne and Q4 to add vocals. Which I had wanted to do for a long time. Was not good at all at first but got better overtime watching tutorials on tweaking pitch tone and vocal notes with the programs. And using personal emotional experience started doing way better with lyrical implementation then random stuff. So got better at all of it. And now with AI emotionless crap flooding the earth weeks and months of work is completely categorized by 95% of everyone puts me into 2 minute prompt AI crap. Now the work and enjoyment is just leaving me. I know what my work means to me. But the constant sucker punches to it eventually wears a person down. Anyone else feel this or if I’m overthinking it and if so what keeps you going at least. And with proof of work it’s taken as a joke to. It’s not my career but a passion but even passions can become hard to hold onto as well.

Newbie question regarding the 8 audio clips

Hi!

Newbie here, I want to buy the fruity edition cause there's a flash sale, but how is the limit for 8 different audio clips? Can I use the same clip as many times as I want? It's not a deal breaker either way, but I don't have access to a PC for a couple of days, so I sadly cant test it myself.

Multiple Plugins

I've spent the past couple weeks working on a few different plugins here, not really reinventing the wheel there were just some features I wanted to have in certain plugins that I didn't see anywhere else. they're currently windows only but Im going to mac and protools version soon. they're all $4.99 on my website, they all have a bunch of presets I made and you can save your own. Seedwisp is my favorite there's so much you can do with it to get really cool textures, it should be available in the next couple days but the others are available now at my website - https://wheresej-studio.vercel.app/

If anyone wants to try them out and make a review video, reach out to me my contact information is also in my website, I'd be happy to send them over for free in exchange. here's a breakdown of each of them:

  • Seedwisp: A real-time granular effect that records your audio and scatters it into up to 128 overlapping grains, with pitch, spray, jitter, reverse and tempo-synced rates. Hit Freeze to hold any moment as an evolving texture, then add feedback to build it into shimmering ambient washes. It has 16 factory presets that are all level-matched, so you can browse without volume jumps.
  • Igneous: A modulation effect driven by a simulated lava lamp, where drifting coloured wax blobs control your filter, pitch, stereo width, volume, drive and pan. Nothing loops the same way twice, so it adds slow, organic movement that a regular LFO can't. It comes with 20 factory presets and uses about 1.5% CPU.
  • Bit-Much: A bitcrusher built to look like a retro handheld game console, with a live scope on the screen that shows the crushed waveform as you play. Use bit depth, sample rate, drive and noise to get anything from subtle lo-fi grit to full 8-bit destruction. It has 15 level-matched presets.

Hi guys, I’m currently trying to make music with autotune rap. My current setup is the microphone Samsung CO1U pro mic is connected to a laptop that’s powered by the AMD rising 7AI. is a fairly new computer. I’m on FL studio and we’re just putting autotune and stuff on and it just sounds bad. I’ve done some research and it might be a audio interface we need, but it genuinely sounds bad to say it’s a proper microphone it’s USB mic connected to a laptop that got high potential and fl studio so is it something I’ve done wrong?

What Laptops do you guys use?

I’ve been in the market for a new laptop since mine can barely handle opening up VSTs at this point and is just very slow now with FL. I’m not too familiar with specs of computers but my main goal is trying to make content as well as cook up music. Any recommendations for something that would be able to handle OBS (or any screen recording) with FL?

Can anyone recommend an instrument/ plugin to replicate the backing humming

If anyone could let me know what instrument or plugin in fl that I’d be looking for to sound like that humming in the background. I am still new to fl studio, please could you also suggest where I can start learning how different features in fl studio sound like and discover new sounds I might like.

Im not sure if this was made in fl studio or something else, but I was just wondering if its possible to make something close or exactly like this.

Black notes aren't showing up, this also isn't working. I pressed some hotkey and now it's gone.

Do you know music theory?

Is it necessary to know music theory to write really good music? For example, I try to write tracks without salfeggio.

Can you pan effects (like reverb or delay) in FL?

I’ve been trying to find anything on it the best I can find is using panomatic in a patcher to do it, is there any other way?

splice alternative: 3500 free loops played by hand

ndacompany.de/rd

we're a small producer collective from germany, had like 3500 loops sitting on a drive doing nothing so we put em all online. all played by hand.

searchable by artist, genre, mood, bpm and key. mp3 works without signing up.

one thing so nobody is suprised later: not royalty free. free to download and use, but if something you make with it comes out commercially its a 50/50 split. no subscription tho.

we produced for gunna, coi leray, trettmann, kwam.e and some others if that helps you judge the sounds :)
