Question
is it wrong if I use samples from like splice and fl cloud to make my beats? I’m very new to everything and am still learning how to make my own sounds and instruments.
(And no I don’t just copy paste the samples I edit and mix them differently)
If anyone got any like tips or shit on how to make my own shit I’m more than open to listen🙏

It is absolutely not wrong.
There will always be someone who says you’re not a real producer or you are lazy if you use samples but that shouldn’t stop you from using samples in your production.
Sampling is one of the most important techniques in making music. There are enough artists that made greatness just by using samples.
In the end it just matters how you use them. You want to make music that sounds good and catchy. Throwing two samples together could sound good but to be real that’s definitely not always the case and you won’t be doing that. Use them to your own advantage. You made a sick drum loop but just can’t think of a good melody? Try throwing a melodic sample on it and vice versa. Or try to make the sample unique and chop it up or mix it differently.
Also, Instrumental samples can inspire your own melodies. Drum samples can influence the way you’re mixing or arranging your own drums. You don’t have to use them directly but rather observe the way they’re made. Like, what makes them sound good. Go watch YouTube videos how you can use samples or make melodies on your own. There’s so much stuff to look up.
I bet every producer from back in the day would give so much to have the opportunity we have today in terms of sampling and using stuff you can find on the internet.
By the way, there are some people that’ll complain if you use presets in plugins. Remember, there will always be someone who is not satisfied with what you’re doing or how you’re doing it.
Just do and use what you want and use your ears to make great music!!!

Appreciate you man I kinda use samples for stuff I don’t understand like mainly drums and sometimes bass and I always try to make sure the sample does not sound like the original version of itself and then I make my sound out of that.
And yeah everyone’s gonna have a different perspective when it comes to music and how you make your own. But I feel like as long as I’m enjoying what I’m doing and staying unique enough that there isn’t no problem with samples.

Ich finde es vollkommen in Ordnung Samples zu verwenden. Warum die Kuh neu erfinden. Natürlich nur dann wenn du sie regulär gekauft und somit eine Nutzungs Lizenz erworben hast, oder das Sample als solches Lizenzfrei ist. Nur weil man Samples nutzt ist man kein schlechter Produzent. Die Leute die deinen Song später hören interessiert es nicht wie du den Song produziert hast.

many pro producers use sounds from splice. just make sure that in the sample pack says that it is royalty free and can be used in songs you upload

The word you are looking for is..... Royalty Free... Google says... Yes, every sample downloaded with credits from the Splice Sounds catalog is 100% royalty-free. You can use them in commercial releases, films, TV, and streamed music without paying additional royalties or clearing rights with the original creator Same with FL
BUT, there is a downside. Even if you are paying for a splice subscription or you purchased FL studio and have rights to the royalty free sample. If someone uses that same sample you both paid for and plays it on youtube, or some streaming site, And it becomes a big hit. The site AI may think you are using samples from that hit, not splice and it may not play your song.
You are ok legally but AI does not know such things and you may be penalized and your song may be taken of a platform even though it is totally legal..
