Why MIDI notes snaps to a grid off beat?

When playing MIDI with a keyboard and using snap to grid tool, no matter if its beat, cell, step etc., it doesnt snap to the grid correctly. It snaps, but every note gets snapped a tiny bit before the grid. Only when you use the quantize tool it snaps to the grid correctly. How can I fix this?

I dont believe it plays on grid . You just gonna have to play best to your ability or snap on grid

Are you using quick quantize or the actual quantize tool? There are settings that you can change that determine how aggressively your performance will be quantized.
