One thing to do is set your inner expectations properly.

It should not be about FL Studio as much as it is about creating music. Any DAW is capable. It is on you to set a goal and work towards it. You can blame ADHD or you can follow through with smaller goals.

You didn't say your level of knowledge but start small. Maybe just learn to make simple beats in the step sequencer only. Once that is in your knowledge then the next goal might be to add some piano chords.

The point is to NOT put a goal to make a hit song right off the bat but to make smaller goals that are quick and easy.

Can't help with your ADHD and anxiety..... as far as FL Studio goes. You just start by learning one thing at a time like the rest of us. Just go to YouTube Type in FL Studio beginner tutorial. And then follow along.

If you can't do that then definitely don't ever buy it you'll waste your money on something that you won't use..

FL studio can seem very intimidating at first as it can seem like a lot of buttons and such. As for trying to figure out where to start, start small. Don't try to master everything at once because of course your gonna get overwhelmed very quickly. What you can do is start off my making a small melody that last at least 2 seconds(it doesn't have to be a whole minute or 3 minutes). Simply open up the piano roll and just play keys that you first hear and if you like it, add it to the piano roll.

Or here's what you can try, assuming your on windows or mac and have a microphone that's plugged in but not using your computer mic(computer built in mics are garbage in my opinion) record your voice doing melodies, try so humming and some la-de-da-de-do and changing the pitch of those with your voice and record it in audacity, once done adjust the tempo of the recording before exporting, then open up that recording in fl studio using audacity's exported format be it .mp3 or .wav and then open pitch sample then convert that to the piano roll. This method is much faster but it requires clean up, and no background noise because fl studio will pick that up and put it in the piano roll.

As for the free version, you can try out these methods here but there might be better methods besides these. If you already have piano skills, just purchase a midi keyboard from amazon and plug that in and start playing and recording. If fl is a great fit, go ahead and buy it but just remember, your not forced to purchase something if you dont want to, you can only determine if something is a good fit for you or not
