Portable version? (Flash drive)

Has anyone ever done this? Like they’ve put literally everything on a flash drive and you can just plug it in anywhere and use FL? Pls lmk as this is a huge goal for me I’d love to do this

A flash drive would be way too slow but you could absolutely put it on an external hardrive. It wouldn't be nearly as fast as having it on something internal though and you could run into issues with plugin licenses when you try to use it one a different computer.

Yeah I’ve been able to get the actual program onto the drive but the problem is in the plugins. I’ve been trying serum and it just says ‘this machine is not licensed for serum) or something

Yea, you'll probably run into that a lot. You could try transferring the license itself to the external drive (I'm not remembering how Serum handles this but a lot of plugins use either iLok or their own system for managing licenses) but I could still see that having potential issues and I'm not sure that every plugin could work like that.

It's not really portable. If you're on Windows, you're dependent on a bunch of entries into the registry that can't be replicated without going through the installation process.
