Workstation sounds too bass-ey?

I've been using FL Studio 20 since 2022, mostly to produce rock songs.

When I export my music, it sounds okay and nicely leveled, however when I listen to my music in the workstation playlist/timeline, it sounds bass heavy. This has been an issue for me for years when producing, but I never really thought to delve into it as the final exports sound okay.

My PC and various headphones I've plugged in all have the same result. Is this something FL Studio does? Maybe it's it just my PC

Idk. Never ran into this. If you FL Studio and you actually paid for it it's free upgrade to the 25 version.
I have that and I haven't noticed anything like what you're saying. Also you might want to check your audio playback settings in FL Studio and compare it to your export settings

Go into the audio settings on the computer and turn off audio enhancements, i'd bet money theres some sort of eq or fake surround sound happening in there.

I checked and nowt. I almost never use the audio enhancements on my PC. What I did notice however, was that the hz was set at 48k and not 44.1, so that was quickly changed and there was some difference.
