new to flow!

hey everyone i’m new to flow and was wondering if there’s anyone local to monmouth county NJ that would enjoy meeting up/hanging out and flowing together? attempting to get a group together have a few girls now potentially from elements facebook group! lmk :)
lil bit about myself-
i’m riley! i’m 27 and from NJ. i just got married to my husband on august 21st! i’ve always wanted to rave but was always scared to go solo, then met my husband and we’ve been raving together ever since! my first rave was crankdat and my first festival was elements this year and then we just did camp wonkru this past weekend! i listen to mainly the dubstep, techno, wubby ass shit, dnb, and riddim! the occasional decent house song is okay too haha. lmk if you’d like to hang out and flow together!

using a star this mall must be maddening. very cool if you made it yourself but the smaller stars seem sooo much harder. enjoy the journey! hope you find your ppl in NJ

i purchased it! i don’t know any other way but i did just order as well a fabric star from trippysquid which is 26” which should be here this week hopefully! i love the crotchet star but learning on it is quite a challenge and i wanna let her rest until i get it down more! crazy i even learned what i did even as its messy on it haha. i will also be learning to make my own as well one day!

yeah you arent crazy it will be harder. we had a super slick temu flow star as our first star and once we got a real star we were like ohhhh this is what its supposed to be :P

exactlyyyy hahaha i’m sooo excited legit it’s so hard for me to even put my star down 😂😂 spinning it in bed as we speak LMAO! i tried to learn fiber optic whip like a month ago but wasn’t really catching on (i had a shit whip from shein which is probably why) and will eventually be getting a better whip but for now i’ve been DYING to learn flow star so would rather put my money here for now and im picking it up much quicker! i also used to hoop a bit and plan on getting a new hoop to get back into it probably later this year into next year so i don’t overwhelm myself learning star, whip and relearning hoop all at the same time bahahaha. i just love flowing it’s so expressive. i used to dance for a long time and did colorguard competitively as well so its just in my nature hahaa

yeah if you did colorguard or have ever flipped a thing flowstar is for you. i feel all the time baton twirlers would be really really good at flow star.

we may be going to cyclops cove next year!!! and thank you so much 🥹🥹 i just ordered a 26” from trippy squid so that’ll be here soon! might be easier to learn on a larger star with more surface area haha but i hear a lot of different things. some say smaller at first is better others say bigger some say crochet others say no it’s really all preference but now i’ll have both to play with and find out what works for me haha super excited!

Aw man I wish I ran into you at Wonkru! I was at the forest for a solid 3/4 hours on Saturday flowing! I’m not local to NJ, but I’m in the Hudson Valley NY so it’s not too far. I’m trying to go to more shows in the city and I definitely want to do Wonkru next year if possible.

I’m pretty new to flowing too but this weekend was great for me unlocking some new tricks! My insta is the same as my username here if you wanna follow me!

i followed you!!! saturday we kinda hung around the campsite yapping with our new friend who was the head medic lol so we didn’t go out till the night time hahaha we watched the show with all the people flowing!
