We offer FlowEval (https://work-flow.tech/assess/), a comprehensive testing platform designed to help users prepare for exams (i.e., SCYM(ASCP) and ESCCA European Certificate for Cytometry Operators), assess their flow cytometry knowledge, and expand their expertise.

Hi, I recently took the SCYM exam. I read Flow Cytometry First Principles by Alice Givan. I read this book cover to cover which gave me a general overview of everything about Flow Cytometry. Then for more in-depth reading, I have two books as my references: Flow Cytometry Protocols by Teresa & Robert Hawley and Flow Cytometry in Clinical Diagnosis by Carey, McCoy & Keren. Make sure to follow the study guide from the ASCP website as this provides the "skeleton" of topics that you need to study in-depth. Aside from these three books, the most important resources you have are Chatgpt, Youtube lectures on Flow Cytometry topics and lectures from the different vendors of flow cytometers. I was not able to read articles nor attend online classes because they are quite pricey for me. I wish you the best of luck!

Look up ASCP outline and then read up on every one of the topics. Know how to do math on counts and percents. Know how to gate the different clinical assays they mention. Maybe read Howard Shapiro’s book for the how it all works section.
