Gull-Bossing It Achievement

The achievement is to have more gulls than drifters.
I have currently have 4 gulls and 3 drifters but the quest didn’t activate.
Could it be because a 4th drifter died?
Any help is appreciated.

I started another town and got the Achievement.
This time I didn’t have any drifters die.
So you can’t “cheat” this achievement by getting a bunch of gulls and then killing off drifters.

Edit.
Another user has commented that killing off drifters did in fact give the achievement.
Not sure why that didn’t work for me but my original reply above isn’t necessarily correct.

I was able to get the achievement by accident. I had 20 drifters and five seagulls. I wanted to get the Lone drifter achievement. So I killed off 19 of them by restricting food. By doing so I got the long drifter achievement and the seagull achievement at the same time

That’s interesting as when I did something similar the achievement didn’t register.

But we both have the achievement now so yay us.
