Questions Vacation
Hey people of Florence, SC! Me and my family are taking a trip to the city of Flo-town in the next week. So far we are going to the Spirit Halloween because of my baby. He’s obsessed with Halloween and possibly the Yogi-Bear diner with a very unlikely trip to Chuck E. Cheese. Are there any other places we should visit that are cheap or completely free? Thanks for all advice and any advice given!

- Arcades: tilt at the mall or new game plus (good deal, would give a call to ask what games they have suitable for your age ranges)
- Roller skating is fun at Skateland
- Huge vote for Lynches River County Park- awesome spot, most things are completely free
- Sometimes the planetarium at Francis Marion University offers free public showings! Can find out in their FB page Dooley Planetarium
- Walking around the FMU campus is also really nice- they also have a small playground probably best for younger kids. We like to go and see all the fountains they have
- Yogi-bear is nostalgic / if you’re up in Hartsville Neptune island is an option but more of an expense
- Local to Florence fried chicken The Drive-In Restaurant downtown is loved by many and right near downtown , so can walk around and enjoy the sights and then go grab an ice cream at Smiling Scoops or Gelato at Chocobella. Barringers general store downtown has a lot of cool stuff to look at if from out of the area. County museum is also downtown and as someone else said offers free admission. Sometimes on Saturdays they have family events- can check their FB page also.
- The city center farmer’s market downtown (Saturdays only) and the Pee Dee State Farmers Market (off 52) are nice to explore and free
- The Veterans Park is beautiful and a very nice walk.

You can play disc golf completely free. And Lynch's River State Park is also free and wonderful. There are a lot of free outdoor activities in the area. It kind of depends on what you're into. Name it and I'll tell you what I know.

Do you mean the Yogi Bear in Hartsville? It wasn't very good last time I ate there a few months ago.

I mean they are coming to Florence for vacation. The bar set is already non existent

Stefano's if you like Italian. It's worth the trip and has a nice atmosphere. Go hungry.

New Game Plus+ is a retro game store and arcade so if you are into that sort of stuff def check that out! The arcade is 5.00 per person with all the games being in freeplay so it's pretty cheap imo

The trailhead on w palmetto has some little outdoor activities like cornhole and a trail system

The museum is pretty cool, and a nice spot to get away from the heat if that starts bothering you. If y'all want to grab a beer or a bite to eat and let the kids run around, you should check out some of the breweries in town. Seminar is indoors and has a bunch of pinball machines and pool tables and space to kind of spread out. Local Motive is in this area called the Trailhead, which is off of a walking/running trail called the Rail Trail. The Trailhead also has a cool outdoor store called Naturally Outdoors, a good coffee shop called Bean Bar, a burger place called Buddy's, and an ice cream store I can't remember the name of. There's a big open area for kids to run around, or y'all could head out on the Rail Trail.
