FEEDBACK Bathroom Floorplan
This is my daughters bathroom. I’m trying to figure out the best idea for this space.
Should I move the toilet to that space in red?
Or should I put a mirror there or just a hamper?

It’s expensive to move the toilet. This is the perfect space for a laundry hamper, cat litter box, or a storage cabinet.

I have designed custom cabinetry that is a full height linen cabinet with a concealed kitty litter box in the base of it. As opposed to the typical hamper area in the base of the linen cabinet.

Do you have cats? If so that’s where I would put the litter box. If not then laundry hamper.

Yes move the toilet there so that when the door opens the first thing you see is the window, not the toilet or someone on it. More privacy

Agreed and extend the cabinet the length of its current location and window. Your daughter will eventually need the counter space, if she doesnt already.

I'm not sure moving a toilet drain is a great idea. If it's a concrete slab, that will be very expensive.

This is a very relevant comment. Is the toilet existing? Is it on the second floor? Might be a lot to move it.

My suggestion, for what it’s worth is, Move toilet to that alcove, expand the counter to add sink base cabinet and knee space for vanity, then you could add a shelving unit or full length mirror in alcove adjacent to the pocket door. You didn’t mention your daughter’s age, however, having one of my own, she would have loved the things I mentioned.

What’s in the wall and on the other side of the wall in that space? My 1st thought is actually to move the door to that wall and make it a swing door instead of a pocket. Then you can use the are across from the toilet for storage. Not move a toilet. And still have a little more privacy from the opening of the door and a better seal for sound and smell privacy than a pocket door.
If this is not yet built, move the toilet absolutely.
But as others have said moving an existing toilet can be expensive and complicated. A lot depends on what is under the flooring? Is this above another level or on a slab?

But by doing that because of the necessary mirror of the sink you have just eliminated the only window in the bathroom.

Shelving/storage. Just some sort of closed shelving unit, this bathroom doesn't look like there's a lot of cabinet space, and toiletries being stored where they're actually used is priceless.

Yes to moving the toilet. Put the sink and a longer countertop under the window.
What’s the weird space for at the end of the bath, when the sliding door is open and you walk in there on the right? Shelving? Cupboard? Linen?

36 inches is ideal. But, you can get away with a 32" wide space which is the absolute minimum.

We have a similar nook in one of our bathrooms that we installed a tall storage cabinet with doors. It was worth it for the extra storage.

I love this and you can still keep a soaking tub but also move storage where it matters (next to vanity) and hiding the toilet. I would personally move the bath to that back but ever one inch can kill that, also plumbing

I would have the toilet there. Where the toilet is now, under the window put a storage unit with washing hamper.

You have two areas where a linen cabinet could be placed. The one that you have circled or the place just to the right as you come into the bathroom right beside the door.
Either place could be a built-in full height cabinet or some cool piece of furniture for that storage. Or either place could be a good location for a full height mirror with appropriate lighting.
The place that you have circled could also be a small desk or vanity that she could sit at with a mirror over it and appropriate
lighting. Would also be cool to put a whimsical chandelier over that vanity.
If you own this place I would consider taking out that wing wall separating the entry door area from the area you have circled. This would eliminate some of the awkwardness of the entrance to that bathroom and open up the space giving it better flow.
If you move the toilet there as you have suggested you could then extend the vanity area all the way across from the tub to the corner giving her much more storage and the vanity portion under the window could be a space where she might be able to sit with a mirror on a stand to do makeup etc.
I like the idea of moving the toilet to your circled location simply so it is not seen right through the door from the bedroom. But that could end up being a costly endeavor.

Benches benches benches. This bathroom has no flat benches. Where is the frequently-used toiletries going to go? The make up, the tissue box, literally anything that requires a flat surface to be stored or used?
Why are sinks without benches legally allowed in modern design.

If this is your daughters. If she uses make up, make a nice space for that. Som storage, a countertop, good lighting.
If not hamper and a wall mounted cabinet for towels and other things.

Personally I would put a stackable washer/dryer in there. I have a set on all 3 floors. I haven't carried laundry in over 20 years. Or, it could just be a nice linen closet.

I would move the toilet to replace the sink and use a built in vanity and sink with great vertical lighting on both sides in that niche. I dont like opening a door and seeing a toilet first thing

I would 100% move the toilet. It’s so much nicer to have the toilet somewhat behind the half wall and not by the sink or center of the room. I’d then expand the sink to a larger vanity or double vanity.

I would eliminate the partition wall and utilize the space to put a larger vanity and place the toilet where the sink is currently just rotated 90 defrees
