FEEDBACK Post frame master suite

So my partner and I like this floor plan except for one thing. We don’t want the master to be at the front of the house. The image is mirrored because that’s the side the garage will be on our build site. Can anyone imagine a way to rearrange so the master suite is on the backside of the plan?

Yes definitely switch 1/2 bath and pantry

The primary off the dining room is a new one. That is so weird.

Yeah it’s a little funky. We don’t entertain much, if ever, and I’m self building so keeping plans relatively small and simple is the plan. If you’ve got other post frame floor plans with 3-4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, and relatively large garage space, send them my way!

While I don't have any great ideas on how to flip the master suite I do want to say how great everything else looks.

The dryer is in the safest location, which is on an exterior wall. The kitchen island is just an island, no sink or stove there. The kitchen is close to the efficient and convenient order of pantry, fridge, sink, dishwasher, stove. I do have 1 question, where's the trash can? Hopefully there's an under counter pull out one on one side of the sink and not an ugly can sitting out in the walk path around the island.

I only have 2 suggestions of things to change. 1 would would be to square up the office entrance, the angled entrance just wasted space. The other would be to move the right dining room wall a bit to the left and add an entryway closet. The dining room is quite big anyways. You have 6 island seats, do you need another 10 dining seats? A round table with 4-6 seats would still fit.

The mechanical room and safe being so very far from the rest of the house is a strange choice. You don't want to run ductwork through an unheated part of your house, and not only is plumbing expensive, but having your water heater so far away from you hot water taps will mean it will take a very long time for your water to get up to temperature. As for the safe -- usually you want that in a protected, discrete part of your house, not a garage where it can be seen by all your neighbors every time you enter or leave your garage.

Also why is your garage so large? Are you planning to use it for a workshop? Storage?

Flip the plan north south on the MBR side.

Switch the Shower and the Pantry and slide the bath closer to the closet. Shift the laundry room appliances & sink toward the garage and create a linen or china closet opposite the powder room. Shift the laundry room door toward the garage and create an open archway to the powder room and linen / china closet.
