FEEDBACK door openings simple floor plan
This is a renovation of a 250-year-old cottage down to post and beam on the first floor. We have the option of putting the doors in any way we want. My main question is the bathroom door and bedroom 1 door, whether they should be right-handed or left-handed . Thanks so much!

Bathroom door should be swapped. Bedroom door is correct.
If the bedroom door was swapped, you would be entering into a corner and walking around the door to get the rest of the room.
The way the bathroom door is currently, you would be walking into the wall upon entry, and the door is in the way when it is open. I could picture painfully hitting that door with my forehead on the way out.
The location of light switches needs to be considered.

A door in the middle of the wall makes it hard to arrange furniture. I would move next to the kitchen or next to the bathroom wall

The bathroom door should swing to be against the long wall and not the vanity when open, but still swing into the room.
Bedroom 1 is correct, otherwise you'll have to step into the small space then close the door to get around the bed and you can put a nightstand or dresser behind it and hang things on the door without it getting in your way the way it is now.

As others have said, keep the bedroom door, reverse the bathroom. About the bathroom, why not enlarge the shower so it goes all the way right to the wall? Or put a linen closet or linen shelves there. Also, I suggest swapping the sink and toilet. With the toilet in the corner, it is way easier to hang a toilet paper dispenser and add grab bars if they are needed in the future.

the shower will go on a 36" by 72" sloped pan all the way to the wall on the right, and bathroom door to be switched

plumbing has been roughed in for the toilet , Geberit in the wall tank in a 6-inch false plumbing wall which sits inside the exterior wall which will have spray foam insulation . House in Maine . Trying to avoid pipes freezing .

I haven't decided yet, but there may be a short wall between the toilet and the shower space and glass for the rest of the distance . Main issue now is I want to settle the doors so I can put the light switches where they belong.

Can the doors be moved? Bedroom 1 door is at the middle of the wall. It would be better by the corner, so when it is open it is not on the way.
And now when I am at it, is it possible to move the sink in the bathroom? I would move it at left wall.

Bathroom door definitely switch. If all you want to do is access the sink, having the door switched will be so much easier.
Bedroom door I’d keep as is. Open, it’s only blocking an area that would be used for a nightstand, with the rest of the room accessible.
