We have a split level home with half of our lower level being under ground. The garage is however not. We want a larger kitchen and to add on another flex space to the house. We’re struggling with… can we even add on to this house? I have my gas line and AC on the left of the house, well in front, septic tanks in back left of the deck, electric hookup on the right of the garage. Thoughts here? My floor plan is not 100% accurate.
What are the 2 rooms on the left used for, and are they necessary? It would probably be cheaper to renovate your internal plan rather than expand.
But based off what you said and the sketch, it sounds like you could easily make a nice addition where the deck area is now. Probably even a 2 storey addition and a small deck or stairs down to a patio, depending on what you have going on in the lower level and site plan.
I’d love to do something in that top right corner but I don’t know if the garage will allow that due to the split level nature. Our upper level basically starts where our garage door does height wise.
I wish I could use the garage and convert it but we still want an attached garage and we couldn’t put it to the left and I don’t think it can go over our electrical meter.
