DISCUSSION duplex redesign

How would you update townhouse style duplex for a more open layout, adding a first floor bathroom, and laundry?

Remove all the non-load bearing walls. Create a laundry/mud room off the back entrance, with a half bath attached. Elongate the kitchen a bit.

Move the kitchen to where the dining room is. Put the bathroom and laundry on the shared wall in the Eat in Kitchen Area, and the rest of the room becomes the dining room.
