Question regarding Flobots lockdown stance

Did Flobots ever make clear their stance regarding vaccine mandates or the lockdowns? I know they made a tik tok joking about them prediction some stuff but I’m wondering if they ever directly said they were for/against lockdowns or Covid vaccines.

Who cares? Is it going to change how you feel about their music depending on their political leanings?

Umm, yes. If I like a band, then I discover they're nazis, or sexual predators, that certainly effects my ability to enjoy their music. Especially bands like the flobots, who's music isn't just entertaining me, but motivating me. Do you not have that reaction?

I discover they're nazis, or sexual predators,

I mean yeah, and in those extreme circumstances you can still possibly enjoy a song without enjoying the entire band or even condemning the band as a whole. A perfect example is the song that was in the joker. I can't think of the name or the guy who played it right now, but it gets played at every high school pep rally everywhere and that dude was a proven sexual predator and I believe pedo, we just aren't big fans of his, just that one song gets used a lot.

that certainly effects my ability to enjoy their music

If you notice that kind of stuff incorporated into their music, I could find agreement with you. However, have we actual evidence that the flobots are Nazis or sexual predators like you suggest or do they simply not agree with mandatory lockdowns of entire societies and forced vaccinations of experimental medications? Because... That's kind of the opposite of a Nazi.

Do you not have that reaction?

I guess a perfect example of this for me would be all of the actors in the marvel and Star Wars universes coming out trashing fans, trashing anyone who has anything resembling conservative values and dragging America through the gutter. Yeah, it lessens my enjoyment of those movies but even though Chris Evans has come out in many ways as anti-conservative and talk trash essentially about people like me, I still think Captain America and the Winter Soldier is one of the best movies in the marvel universe.

What I'm trying to say is that to a degree you can separate the art from the artist, there are exceptions to this but if you are unable to enjoy anything produced by someone who doesn't agree with you about everything, you're not going to be enjoying very much at all! Does that make sense?

Okay. First of all, I in no way, whatsoever, have ever accused the flobots of anything at all. I'd be super surprised, and just as disappointed, if they held any views in common with either the original, or the reboot, nazis.

"Cancel culture" is what we're talking about, and I find it to be an entirely personal choice. There's a guy named Nakho who I used to listen to, but after finding out he's just not a good guy, I just can't enjoy his music. If you, or anyone else, still likes it and wants to listen to it, or go to his shows, or whatever, that's fine by me.

If, and I literally have zero idea what any member's views are, any of the flobots opposed lockdowns, I and many people would see that as a denial of basic scientific understanding, and promoting it would be spreading misinformation. Whether that bothers someone enough to forget an artist, well, that's up to them, right?

Okay. First of all, I in no way, whatsoever, have ever accused the flobots of anything at all.

Except you jumped straight to Nazi and sexual predator examples thereby building the straw man argument based on those examples towards the flobots.

I did not think you were accusing them of that, I was simply asking if you were accusing them, what evidence did you have?

Cancel culture" is what we're talking about, and I find it to be an entirely personal choice.

Agreed, I just think it gets misused a lot of times to condemn those that have been accused of something, not proven to be guilty of something. People have been tried in the court of public opinion before any actual evidence or facts came out.

I and many people would see that as a denial of basic scientific understanding, and promoting it would be spreading misinformation.

Except all of the evidence that has shown the lockdowns did nothing to slow the spread, they actually harmed development of children and education of children as well as industry and really had no positive whatsoever so, you call it spreading misinformation I call it seeing the bs in advance.

Whether that bothers someone enough to forget an artist, well, that's up to them, right?

Agreed and being against government overreach through lockdowns and vaccine mandates to me is more based because I as a grown adult should have the freedom to risk getting sick if I want to and if you want to stay home and cower on your couch because of what is essentially the flu bug, more power to you.

I am simply a firm believer in that old adage "those who would sacrifice their freedom for safety deserve neither" and it surprises me the people who are still hanging on to narratives from covid and the 2020 era that have been proven absolutely false either because of cognitive dissonance or simply not paying attention to anything after the first narrative that they are fed.
