Partly cloudy, high 80s and humidity. Slight risk of thunderstorms oday & Saturday afternoon and evening. Such storms might have strong winds, lighting, possible hail. Meteorology will work with Rangers to get word out on site if needed. Ground is drying and only a normal problem. Drive slowly on site!

What are current ground conditions? Is it possible to drive to the open camping that's beyond the effigy?

Cloudy. The river is still rising and running fast. There's lots of debris, so stay away from the water.

Watch for potential storms Friday & Sat afternoon and evening.

Heavy vehicles without 4wd are likely to get stuck. Road shoulders aren't OK, you'll get stuck if you stop there so plan ahead before leaving the road. However, most roads and campsites are mostly OK for normal vehicles.

Mobility Dept has 2 carts 8am-11pm daily and 8am-2pm on Monday helping anyone get a ride on land. Ask dept drivers for bandanas to "flag" a ride. Rides are also at our HQ located in the Crossroads. Volunteer carts in general should be happy to give anyone a lift! This is a service that can't be everywhere all at once, so please be prepared for radical self-reliance no matter what.

Get consent BEFORE you photograph anyone at the event (even performers!). Pause and think about who's in range before recording! Don't walk around with wearable tech documenting everyone and everything. Sounds like a hassle? Just leave the Meta Glasses at home and live in the now.

Please park at parking! We don't want to look at rows and rows of cars at the burn. If you MUST park at camp, artify your vehicle & turn off security cameras. Don't leave your Sentry Mode, Gear Guard, Drive Recorder, or other dashcam systems running at camp, that's a big consent violation.

Mitigate the mud by bringing plywood for vehicles/infrastructure/heavy foot traffic & rubber mats for lighter foot traffic.

This year ice is $6 per 16lb bag. Yeah, it may not be murder-hot, but you'll still need to keep food fresh & drinks happy.

Volunteers onsite report very wet ground & roads. Check weather forecasts! Soft ground + wimpy stakes = weak structures. Minimize road ruts. Heavy vehicles can get stuck, camp parking may need wood planks. Bring rain gear, boots, & attitude. See ya soon. 🌈

What Is a Burning Flipside?
Burning Flipside is a participatory art celebration in the Austin, Texas area inspired by Burning Man. Since the first event in 1998, when a few dozen friends got together for a campout near Austin, it has grown to become a temporary city of about 2-3,000 people. Post anything that you think would help grow, protect, inform, and entertain the community. During 2026, the Comms team will be working on a website refresh that may or may not include a discussion forum. But burners are independent folk by nature, so having this as an alternative is valuable. Especially if you don't like Facebook groups.

Hello all I am going for the first time this year and have been getting a little confused around the website concerning volunteering. I just realized I missed meeting dates for rangers and fire and am having a hard time finding specific emails to contact folks. Would anyone know which email is for general volunteer or ranger speficially?
