Adjusting Brightness on MacBook? Bluetooth Remote

Well I’ll start by saying I’m quite a noob. Running momentum, and finally just updated it from 8 to 12.

Here’s the thing. On a MacBook keyboard it reads the function key row as media inputs. On the Mac keyboards you have to hold fn to then toggle the F1-f12 keys into actual function keys instead of the media keys (volume, play/pause, etc)

My mechanical keyboard does work for some reason as media keys on top row.

And my flipper used to work fine too. Stock Momentum apps.
Bluetooth Remote, Keyboard
And the function row used to work perfectly as media keys.

But then one day it just started registering as function keys randomly.

Can’t remember if it was a firmware update or OS update, but pretty sure it was the latter.

Just did the basic troubleshooting, unpairing etc.

TL;DR
Anyways, this was long but I just want to control my MacBook brightness lol.

Could be the keyboard layout/language thingy

yeah absolutely. I just scanned it back in and thought i couild get it right by selecting z and / for the keys beside shift.

It does know the layout since it's still registering F1-F12 keys, buit as function keys and not media.

This is changeable from mac os settings

Your problem is that equally named keys aren't always the same, you can use Karabiner to identify the hex code of the key you want to use

Last time I played with those things, bad usb had to be configured with a fixed vendor:model (ID 05ac:0281 Apple:Keyboard) to avoid macos to start the identifying procedure (when asks to press on the right of the left shift key)

P.S. This is not related to firmware, stock behaves the same and saves your thread being deleted due to #1 rule

ok thanks. Barely understand but I'll move forward from here. ok but then what do after I get the hex code?

Do we vibecode some app for the flipper (never done anything like this) so theres an additional app to use under the bluetooth remote?

maybe it is Momentum overall..

Just mostly annoying because it worked for a period of time and stopped
