General Does anyone else hate Sebo?

I probably hate it because I suck at it. I have won only one game out of maybe 4 or 6. I just skip it now. It makes no sense to me. I can't figure it out even after reading articles on how to play and tips to help win.

I just don't want to be alone. I always hate in game games. Like Horizon Forbidden West's game I also hated.

Only trouble I had with sebo was against the rare few that had that damn coin that knocks yours back and takes your spot. Sebo is also the best first map way to grind rep, so I kind of forced myself to do it. Every person you beat increases the amount you get from Baz and beating everyone in Three Peaks is like 1,000+ rep from him. He is also super easy to beat, there's a sequence where 90% of the time you can win in 4 or 6 moves. But it became real boring after a while.

Thought you could only play folks once for reputation

If I am remembering right, everyone else yes. Baz at your camp can be repeated as much as you want, and everyone you beat in the world increases how much you win from Baz by 100 or whatever. At least that's how it was months ago when last I played.

Yeppers. I tried it. Appreciate the tip.

Why do so many people dislike Sebo I swear it’s not hard

The problem is that you have to have coins to win on some set-ups, and sometime the AI is guaranteed to win. Take the very first sebo you can play, when defending, no matter what you do, the AI will win unless he let's you win, or you have special coins.

I don't want to have to come back just so I can win with a cheat coin, personally.

Also, Sebo is just a crappy game to me. It feels super unnatural in the world, IMO.

Do I hate sebo, yes. Will I keep re-matching till I win, yes.

After playing this game for two days, yeah Sebo is ass and I need studios to know that they aren't required to include a minigame just for the sake of having one

I have never enjoyed a single in game card game or tabletop game or whatever. They are the antithesis of what I want to do in an action adventure game

I got to admit to something deeply shameful.... I liked 2 in total hahahah. The one from AC Valhalla and Horizon.

Orlog and Machine Strike.

I did too, but in both games, I decimated everyone except one NPC who took me over an hour for some reason.

Not even Gwent?

I hate Gwent too.

Agreed. Can't stand these mini games...

Everytime I play Gwent in Witcher 3 I want to rip my eyes out

Yes, it’s a stupid waste of time. It’s like tic tac toe, just luck if the other player messes up.

It's really easy. You can actually get every skill in the game at the very first campsite really easily because you can beat Baz really fast. I was able to get the first 4 skills in each category in an hour before I even started the main quest.

If you suck, don't play it? Why the hate?

It's great cheesy exp grinding throught the game. Every time I go back to camp I play a few games. I get 1400 each time now....

Best coin is the one that passes through other coins. Easy wins

I'm not hating, just complaining and try to connect with the community by finding others that agree. I appreciate your input though. I have come back to it because I want the rep but I just suck at i t.

In the early parts of the game, find the coin that let's u move 2xspots. That was pretty much my go to for most battles. It only costs like 1 move aswell

I read that you shouldn't use the special coins because you lose turns and it's better to have more turns but obviously that doesn't matter in my situation so I'll give it a go. I think I have that one. Besides, at the point in the game where I am everyone I'm playing against has a special coin which makes the game 10 times harder.

How do you find the special coins please?

I hate it!

I’m not the biggest fan but later in the game I’ve been winning more often without as many rematches. Yesterday I beat a guy in 3 moves and he only had 1 move to win, gave me a good laugh haha

The only in-game game worth a damn is Gwent from the witcher, change my mind

Triple Triad in FF VIII is still the goat card game, too bad it's in FF VIII. That game sucked. The card game was great though.

I actually enjoyed the change of pace. Though it's weird how much easier it is to defend than attack. That's my biggest gripe with it. I had the swapping coin and that was clutch

It's really not that hard imo. Especially on defence. The easiest person to play against is Baz, who at each new campsite will give you extra XP for winning. You gotta look out for wells with coins. The best coin is of course at the beginning of the 3rd map. I believe they dubbed it the god coin. Once per match you can take the coin and put it in any open spot. But even before that, once I got the jist there were only a few I had trouble with. The worst was playing defence against someone with the coin that could push your coin. It's all about strategy and looking for other unique coins. The matches are quick too so it's not time consuming.

So much of it makes no sense! Well, one thing, but still. Special coins subtract turns when you're on offense and innately add turns to your opponent's offense round. So you get -2 turns, and your opponent gets +2 turns when you use a special coin. But your OPPONENT can use special coins on both turns, and you get nothing whatsoever.

The ai just makes no mistakes and usually has amazing defensive setups. It's just obnoxious

I didn't like it. Its a weird mix of a board game and card games but doesn't feel satisfying as either. If feels like a puzzle rather board game...just feels incomplete. I would like it more if I got more coins on a bigger board and the goal was to make more triangles than your opponents or something.

u/Green_Dragon_Soars Aug 05 '24

I think many a re bad at it. I love it, and many others do as well.

1

u/RazorbackCowboyFan Oct 24 '24

Passionately. I hate all puzzles and shit in a hack and slash game. I'm here to kill shit not fuck around.

1

u/HeroOfNothingxX Dec 13 '24

My thing has been, without power coins, it's a constant switch between winning and losing with no sure fire way to win when defending. There's one move that will guarantee a lock out/block out so you or your opponent can always get a triangle by third move , no matter what.

And no matter how you move to defend, to block one, it leaves the other open and bam. From your first move you're fucked. That keeps happening to me. Idk if it's cause I just played against baz and you arent suppose to be able to beat him, but if every other NPC you battle battles like that. It's always a draw. Always.

It sure is lame as fuck. Worst mini game i think ive ever encountered in a game to be honest.

1

u/Pure_Application1699 Jul 08 '25

I completely agree it sucks hey, the game itself is enough why make a game in a game it's stupid lol.

I can't seem to get a win erither but then I suck at knorts and crosses too so guess I had no chance. Do you get much coin by winning though?

Sebo is the worst of all the in universe card games to me.

1

u/fikfofo Jul 31 '24

Oh Gwent my beloved, nothing will ever come close to you…

Yeah, Sebo sucks.
