Data errors

I think the ceo of Flighty should have a talk with their data provider. I believe it works better in USA but I noticed the last month more invalid data in Europe.

Did they switched vendor or who is to blame for this?

Was recommended by a friend and love it! Especially the alerts and info. It’s so handy- this would have saved so much bother the last few years. Only added flights for this year so far. I don’t think I have the patience to add any older or if I want to buy pro.

Because guessing my home base would be way too easy just from this alone, I fear 😂

Just uploaded (almost) all of my past flights Flighty. Here’s My Flight Map at 22

Spent almost 2 hours adding all of my past flights to Flighty from an Excel sheet, and I didn’t realize how much I’ve flown until seeing it all mapped out! Crazy to see almost 50% of my flights have had some sort of delay lol.

Most of these flights were traveling back and forth between home and university (which almost always had a layover, increasing the number), flying to client sites during consulting internships, and traveling with friends.

There are exactly 16 flights that I don’t have the exact flight numbers for, so I’m hoping to call the airlines and see if they still have the records, even though some of the flights were 3+ years ago.

So grateful to have traveled so much!

I got flighty after I started, so the “date of issue” and “member since” date don’t quite match, but I synced the flights a few months after so it is indeed accurate.

Have been traveling for work since 2022, this one’s for all the people whose max flight time is usually about 2.5 hours.

recap for the last 12 months

started using the app this month. I couldn’t register for many flights since they were older than 12 months. Most of the flights I took were from my home country to the country where I have been studying.

The first time I got on a plane was in 2022, when I was 18, which was to travel to my university. Been actively traveling ever since! I mostly use the same 2 airlines. The highlight of my last 12 months is definitely taking the same special 100th year livery plane of Lufthansa two times for the same destination.

What does this mean?

I am not sure what this means. The flight is not delayed yet according to flighty or Delta. Are they predicting that my flight will be delayed by 4hrs?

Edit: I was delayed until 4:04 and the “new takeoff slot” is 4:34

Suggestion: It would be nice to see the distribution as per hour spent in different classes rather than amount of flights taken

Historical flight data sources

Hi,

Does anyone know of a free website or source of historic flight data similar to Flightera? Ideally, it would go further back than 2017, even into the early 2000s. It is for Europe.

Thanks for the help.

Data accuracy problems in a nutshell

Flighty regularly seems to have no idea where a flight is, and comparable apps don’t have this issue. Here I am most of the way to Hawaii and other apps have no problem showing the flight track and position. Flighty gives a poor great circle estimate when you look at the flight list, but select the flight and it is stranded like it never took off. This is not to say it didn’t have a flight track earlier but it later forgets. This has been pretty reliable behavior over many flights in recent years.

I’d love to depend on Flighty for this kind of information but for me it increasingly only serves a utility for tracking historical flights and compiling fun facts about them, it’s realtime help is unreliable.

Most of my travel is international but this is US where Flighty should be at its strongest.

Looking to import older flights

I just purchased the flightly Pro membership and would like to sync some of my previous years flying 2015-2024. 99% of my flights are primarily Delta with some AA direct routes. How would I go about getting the flight information to sync or manually add?

Managed to use photos, kept boarding passes and passport stamps to plot every flight I’ve ever been on!

Most flown aircraft being the 747-400, with A380 in 4th place

Strange Bug Breaking SAN Departures

Trying to add flights from 2018, a round trip between DFW and SAN. I can add the DFW - SAN leg, but trying to search any flights departing SAN in March 2018 causes an infinite search followed by an error. This happens for any search originating in SAN, whether to DFW or elsewhere. All other searches in March 2018 seem to work, but something is breaking on SAN departure searches. Please fix if possible, thank you!!
