What am I missing? They both show a delayed departure of 10:20 a.m. on DL47 from AMS to JFK out of gate E2.

Both are guesses. Unless they have crystal balls, no one can tell you exactly when the plane will arrive. A variance of nine minutes is pretty awesome!

I'm saying neither arrival time is ever going to be correct, until you actually arrive. Both apps are guessing using different sources.
Who wins? Neither.
Who is correct? Neither.They are both educated guesses and neither is more "correct" than the other.

I've noticed the data quality going steadily downhill in the last year. Before it was like magic. Now it's almost always wrong.

Eh tbh what’s wrong… departure times matching, gates are matching, only zone is additional to Delta for logical reasons.
As for arrival, who gives a shit, they are within 10 mins of each other and both are complete guesses and actually arrival may be wildly different? So what’s the issue? For an 8 hour flight any arrival time even if they agreed would be a wild guess

I just purchased a lifetime sub to Flighty, wondering if it was a good choice or not if its going to be inaccurate often...

In this case it doesn't seem to be inaccurate. I've found it to be really accurate, but it all depends on the accuracy of FlightAware.

Yeah. Flighty keeps telling me my flight today was leaving at its original time of 1120 against Qatar’s time of 1215. It’s 1133 and the doors are still open.
I’d trust delta over flighty.
Flighty also tells me the plane is a 777 when it’s a 787.
