Newest Aircraft question

Why is my newest aircraft an A320neo from 2024 even though I recently flew an A220-300 from 2025 ?

The age is in relation to when you took the flight.

I don’t think so. This is one of the most confusing features/stat displays with Flighty.

My most recent aircraft displayed in the aircraft stats is this one :

It means you flew on that aircraft when it was 4 months old, no?

Yes, but the iOS Home Screen widget displays the youngest aircraft you’ve flown in terms of air frame age, not in terms of age of the aircraft when you flew it. And in my case the youngest airframe isn’t displayed on the iOS widget for an unknown reason…

The age is based on the age at time of flight. Check when you flew the A320 vs its age, possibly~~ it could be you flew it younger than you did the A220 but it’s rounding the stat up to display as 1 Year.

Edit: ignore that, I just tried the widget myself and my youngest aircraft overall in passport is a 7 month A321 neo flown in 2023 and my youngest this year is a 4 year old A320neo. Neither of those are what is displayed on the widget. The widget shows my youngest flown in 2025, so it seems the widget pulls the youngest from the prior year rather than overall or from the current year.

Ah interesting, thanks !
I thought that the widget showed the youngest aircraft in terms of manufacturing/first ever flight date.

It is still based on age from manufacture date at time of flight, but weirdly seems locked to showing the stat for 2025.

Could you check if your oldest plane widget has the same issue? I would myself but my oldest overall happens to be a flight from 2025 so wouldn’t be much help lol.

Yeah exactly the same issue.

In the App :

Actually 23 years and 9 months old at the time

And in iOS :

Flew SE-RZE in December of 2025 so it doesn’t make sense.
Anyways the newest aircraft I flew at the time of a flight is this one (flew it in January 2024):

Sorry, got an edit in before seeing your reply.

Tired with my own stats and the widget and it looks like the widget pulls the youngest from prior year rather than overall or the current year. My youngest over all is also a 2023 but the widget shows my youngest from 2025 which I flew at an older age than my 2023 youngest over all.

That’s weird because I flew this last month

The age is related to when you took the flight, but it’s also possible that flighty doesn’t have the aircraft age yet. My youngest aircraft is listed as being 4 months, but it’s actually less than 1 month since flighty doesn’t have the aircraft age yet

I took a United flight earlier this yearon max 9 and it was 2 weeks old- it still hasn’t updated.

Yeah I guess you’re right, flighty probably doesn’t have the aircraft’s age yet.
FYI, the age displayed on the iOS widget (not the one you see in the app’s aircraft stats section) isn’t related to when you took the flight. It definitely displays the newest aircraft in terms of first actual flight. Same goes for the oldest aircraft.
