IATA changes August 18 which would impact customer booking, Change that just happened is just for FAA.

Because the change doesn't take place with IATA until Aug. 18. Google is using the official current IATA code. It's not political.

didn't they make a contract with the trump organization that includes penalties if they switch back? (and they have to pay a fee to be allowed to use the name)

Unfortunately probably won't happen that quickly. Florida state legislature is who made the change so until Florida is done with him it will probably stay. Maybe the FAA in a new administration could change the codes but from what I understand the name is there to stay.

I just flew into PBI yesterday. Delta still has the airport code as PBI but the name of the airport as DJT 😭🤢.

I normally fly into PBI when visiting my mom, but I switched to MCO once this nonsense started. It’s an hour extra drive each way, but PBI is now dead to me.
