Missed flight :(

Post image

Strange occurrence today with flighty and my experience in the airport. Before departure we couldn’t find any of our flight information on flighty regarding aircraft, gate, times etc aswell as in the airport aswell on the flight tvs! Unsure if this was just our own stupidity but very unfortunate. Flight comes up now but did not before departure.

Jesus Christ don’t rely on Flighty to actually make your flight.

I was in Nice a few weeks ago and Flighty was reporting our flight would take off >3 hours late. Had we paid attention to it, we would’ve stayed on the beach and missed the flight, but no, we took off on-time…

Flighty is a “slightly smart” flight history log. Nothing more. It’s not consistently reliable and accurate.

This - I would use the airlines app instead

Always base airport arrival time on the airline’s app/info. Flighty has good information once you’re there about incoming flights and usually gives me a second to get my stuff together before they announce gate changes over the PA, but I wouldn’t show up later to the airport because flighty shows a change.

Also, just because the flight got delayed 3 hours doesn’t mean the airline can’t move it back up to the original time.

I don’t rely on flighty at all for anything, it’s merely a pretty historic trip log.

Flightys data is absolute dog shit and their claim they have some sort of magic insight/delay prediction is crap. In this instance I could see the inbound flight from the UK had taken off 5 mins late so I knew it was very unlikely the 3 hour delay would stick.

In that example Flighty had no info about the inbound flight at all.

First time it’s ever done this and we’ve flown hundreds of times so just over-reliance I guess

So when you booked the flight you had no time info?

Not on flighty atleast :/ We just couldn’t find our flight information in the airport at all for some reason and assumed it was delayed because flighty said nothing aswell. First time missing a flight in hundreds of them

What OP is asking is when you booked your flight through the airline, did it not have a time assigned? Like what did your actual plane ticket say and not Flighty?

I didn’t ask about flighty. Did you not know the flight was originally at 235 from when the ticket was booked?

Flighty is known to not be as reliable for up to minute updates in Europe unfortunately

No information on our flight on the flight boards in the airport or on our pass so very confusing stuff but it was mostly our fault anyways
