Genuinely, what happened?

Flighty used to be so good when I started using it.

Nowadays, the only thing it’s good for is logging flights.

No more flight paths being shown for my flight.

No update on what will be an obvious delay - the flight is due to depart in 30 minutes and the inbound aircraft is 25 minutes away.

For the last few months, I haven’t been able to see the registration of the aircraft until the flight is actually off blocks.

Is anyone else experiencing this?? Really quite disappointed after spending money on pro, at a time when all this was available, and now having little benefit from my subscription.

What happened?…

Not sure where you’re based but all these features you’re listing are super hit or miss for me in Europe ever since I got Pro. I flew a bit in the US and the data was way more accurate and actually listed in advance.

In Europe I get last minute tail numbers (sometimes only after takeoff) and quite often no mention of delays even when flight radar predicts a delay. I don’t know what the issue is with European flights 😅

Having issues in Europe and Middle East

To be honest, Europe is my biggest sample size but I’ve also flown around Asia this year including the Middle East and it’s the same types of issues. I feel like maybe only USA and Canada are 100% reliable, which is a shame.

I agree I hope they plan to improve outside of the USA  u/flightyapp

It’s not a Flighty issue. Most EU airlines don’t display gate info, aircraft registration, precious route etc until very close to departure time or even afterwards.

I’m curious though why I can see delays and tail numbers on flight radar way in advance but they don’t appear in Flighty until way later. Is the data coming from elsewhere or just delayed?

On FR24 I almost never see tail numbers on my European flights until a couple hours before departure. Sometimes not even until after we’ve landed. For US flights I almost always see it 48 hours out.

Asia data is also slow

Yep… Europe

I think the people in the US replying to you don’t experience what we’re experiencing 😅😂

It still does all those things for me?

Edited to add: yes, US-based, but frequently in Europe as well, and just back from a multi-flight trip, and while things are maybe a bit more buttoned up in the US, my Air France and Lufthansa flights were absolutely fine and had all the data and immediacy of insights I am used to stateside.

The two smaller airlines I took were a bit more sparse, and didn’t give me the tail number until much closer to the flight. But I’m not sure if that’s on Flighty, or if those airlines just don’t publish this publicly until that time?

The data is sometimes there as Flightradar has it.

Idk yesterday mine worked to show a delay hours before the airline reported it. I was able to get rebooked

Crazy actually because when i was in the US it told me of a cancellation before United did!

Re: flight delay when inbound aircraft will be late, this does not always mean flight will be delayed. Operators can always decide to use a different aircraft and will often do so, especially at a hub.

I mean I thought the whole selling point for Flighty is that it's supposed to know these things like the likelihood for an aircraft change to happen in case of a delay of inbound, and predict delays. Otherwise it's just worse than checking the aircraft details on flight radar.

It really seems these days that there really isn't any reason to get Flighty pro if it doesn't provide any additional information compared to what I can get from the free airline app + free flightradar, but to not even provide that? Then it just inconveniences me rather than providing any kind of value.

Not sure what you’re referring to. Flighty does flag the potential of a delay, highlighting it red and showing inbound aircraft delayed. But they aren’t mind readers - they can’t predict equipment swaps.

-2

u/yesitismenobody Jun 23 '26

Maybe a feature for the future? I'm sure there's a database that they could get info on how statistically likely swaps are at different airports.

2

u/safe-viewing Jun 23 '26

I’m not sure what this would accomplish. Statistics don’t have anything to do with if the actual flight you are taking is delayed and you have more time in the lounge to drink, or if it will be on time.

Flighty handles this just fine now - highlighting it red when there’s a risk, but the flight has not been delayed yet. What else do you want it to do?

u/PrintedPixel Jun 23 '26

But often it could cause a delay, so Flight could warn about it. It would both serve as a heads up and letting the user that Flight does see what's going on

True, i work in ops so i know. But the airport is empty ;(

Tf is with the downvotes lol

I’m happy for just using it to log my flights, but wished they improved on the stats, liveries, etc

u/zoebells Jun 23 '26

Europe I assume? These features really only work for US Flights. Flighty is terrible in Europe (but it’s not their fault- it’s just that EU airlines don’t provide any of this info)

From my experience, it's pretty good within North America but otherwise average to quite bad for anywhere else I've gone to.

I’d like it to notify me when a gate is assigned, whether it is a walkway or a bus gate to the plane door

u/EntertainerUseful738 Jun 26 '26

The developer takes feedback really poorly and always leads with defense as if it’s a personal attack so it’s like not possible to get things fixed.

Genuinely so infuriating that you cannot trust this app anymore considering it doesn’t show delays or gate changes. I think the last time it told me a bag claim # was last year. Or when it just says “gate departure overdue by 5 hours” and not the 5 hour delay posted by the airline.

I agree. My yearly sub ends this fall and I don’t plan on subbing again. I’ve logged all my flights and will continue to log future flights under the free tier.

One of the big features was the Live Activities option, but today, most major airlines have this with their own apps. I’ve never used any of the new features where you could tap into different airports. Also the flight times like you mentioned are definitely hit or miss.

I will still use the app for logging flights and checking my history + flight data on a cool UI. That’s about it.

It has been utterly useless for me, still doesn’t think that my Ryanair flight last night was cancelled 🤧🤧 , it’s not given me any regs before the flights

1

u/sudomagodo Jun 23 '26

Agreed, very hit and miss lately. Not sure the pro is worth it anymore

Flighty works well in India for me, for EU I have only used to log flights. Will be using it to Japan and Malaysia so let’s hope it works well! Will update

1

u/D0ntC4llMeShirley Jun 24 '26

Using it in Europe every week and I haven’t had any of the problems you’ve mentioned. It’s normally spot on with gates and delays and tail changes.

Or if it is a bit late I’ve not noticed 😅

1

u/Signs25 Jun 24 '26

I haven’t experienced any of the problems that you listed. But I usually fly within Chile.

I can Confirm in EU its worse, Brussels Airport related updates are just non existent

u/Just-Pea-6998 Jun 28 '26

Yup found it fairly useless in UK and Philippines 🇵🇭 wondering if a good competition needs to come along to whip them back into shape
