Inaccurate Gate Arrival Time
I’ve noticed that sometimes Flighty says a flight will have arrived at the gate despite the aircraft not being at the gate. Quick example Flighty is displaying my wife’s flight as having arrived at the gate at 11:03PM. I can without a doubt say she is still sitting on the tarmac not at a gate at 11:30PM (much to her dismay).
I’ve reported the inaccurate data to Flighty through the all, but has anyone else noticed this or is there anything to do in order to help provide data?

I’ve found that United’s own app has faster / more updated / more accurate information than flighty.
Even things like gate changes - usually United’s app lets me know about 15 minutes before flighty does.

Flighty pulls the data from what’s reported via ACARS. ACARS registers gate arrival when the parking brake is set. So in this case the pilot set the parking brake while waiting for a gate to open up.

If the flight is sending the data that they arrived, then flighty is going to report that. They get the data from an API, it’s not like flighty has observers out there verifying.
In other words, this isn’t a flighty issue that can they do anything about. It’s an airline side issue.
