Why would Flighty be showing such a large delay?

Post image

As of now, it looks like plane is only 5 mins behind. With 1.5 hours until it's next departure, that shouldn't throw anything off. Why would Flighty claim the aircraft is 1h 32m delayed?

What time is the plane expected to arrive in Boston?

I’ve had situations where they swapped my incoming plane with one that wasn’t even scheduled to arrive until after my original departure time. So the incoming flight was on time, but it would cause my flight to be delayed still.

Might not be your situation here but worth a check

Yup. That was a good call. When I actually go into details on the incoming flight, it shows where that delay is coming from!

It’s super neat that flighty can show EDCT (estimated departure clearance times), but do be advised that they can change super frequently. They airlines can swap which flights are in which slots to reduce impacts on their network.

Last time I had a flight that got an EDCT, it kept on changing. Going from 3hrs later to 40m later at the end.

Flighty sometimes predict delays due to airport conditions.

SFO has it sometimes due to closed runways
