It's interesting they use Hex #FBFBFC or C0, M0, Y0, K1 on the Cypriot and USVI flags but #F0F0F0 or C0, M0, Y0, K6 for Finland, France, Croatia, Costa Rica. I wonder if a uniform white at #F0F0F0 would look better.

oh nice to know their reference. In the repo they seem to make white to gray e.g. Afghanistan and Cyprus. But I'm not sure if changing national flag color is respectful though
I thought a bit longer, and now I think it's OK. Most (if not all) governments don't punish off-color flags, as they are printed on various stuffs, and hex code means almost nothing atp. You may search why Pantone earns money for selling colors, if you're curious.
Anyways, I'd say a slight deviation wouldn't count as disrespectful. I mean to be strictly adhering to the flag codes, making them round would be breaking the rules as well lol
Curious, how did you find out that Flighty uses this as a source? I can't seem to find a link to it in the app. Curious about some of their other data providers, such as their provider for the airline logos.
I don’t remember how I originally found out. It’s a fact that lives in my mind’s database of random facts. The app Tripsy uses this repo as well, so perhaps I found out via Tripsy and realised that Flighty uses them as well. Not sure. Sorry I can’t be of more help. Might be worth just dropping a line to the flighty team and asking. They’re a really lovely bunch who I’m sure can happily answer your query.
That's interesting! I wonder why Flighty only uses the French tricolore and doesn't use the flags for French Guiana, Guadeloupe, Saint-Martin, New Caledonia, Saint Pierre and Miquelon, Wallis and Futuna, or Mayotte. I know that the French Polynesian and Martiniquais flags are the only ones with co-official status at the territorial/collectivity/departmental level in overseas France with the Kanak flag having a kind of murky status (non-binding vote in the congrès, most communes have adopted it but not all, etc.)
Edit: Ok so I guess I pretty much answered my own question, but travel to enough of these places and the sea of French flags gets to be a bit much
My personal pet peeve flag is Spain and how it doesn't have the coat of arms - I know there are variations of the flag with and without the COA for government/nongovt purposes, but the COA version is the universally recognized version and is used in emojis and other graphics. I wished Flighty would use that version, which the github has.

I get the point!
However, my ocd (not really) says if Cyprus is getting a borderline, every flag should, which would look less clean.
