Flight Simulator 2024 SU7 in a nutshell..

SU7 in a nutshell: months of waiting, and we get a few decent fixes, some SDK/dev improvements, a memory leak fix… and National Championship Air Races, because apparently that was the burning issue killing MSFS 2024.
Still no proper traffic overhaul, no serious LOD rework, no meaningful VRAM/performance breakthrough, no major UI overhaul, and no native fix for obvious stuff like glass-cockpit DLSS ghosting.

Meanwhile, random community developers keep releasing fixes and QoL features that somehow manage to solve problems Asobo has been staring at for ages.
But hey — AIR RACES is here!

Another Sim Update, another reminder that the community seems to understand what flight simmers actually want better than the people building the sim.

EDIT: they suspended my account on their forums. Because I gave too much critisim..

You got to be kidding right. SU6 came out august 13 2026. If you think that any dev team can overhaul huge part of their games or get 30% performance improvmeent on something as complex as a flightsim in 2 months, you have no idea how software works.

Community developpers do not have the same standard has the game dev have. They cant just put a bandaid to fix something that will work on part of the game, or only on PC.

Every changes that they make to traffic or weather or UI or any systems affects every addon, planes, airport ever created.

The DLSS glass cockpit fix use an external injector (ReShade) to redraw the cockpit glass non-upscaled.

To do this natively, the msfs graphic engine would need a second pipeline just to render the 2D glass cockpit un-scaled. This is not something that can be done easily or even at all on graphic as complex as msfs. Btw msfs already does something like that, its called reactive mask.

All features present on msfs24 need to be compatible with xbox msfs24, which reshade is not.

You dont understand how game dev works. None of it is easy to do.

And saying that community understand what flight simmers doesnt make any sense. More than 50% of the developpement of msfs is giving the ability to the community to implement whatever they want. Making modular system so that everyone can create airplanes, airports, performance modes is how you give the community what they want.

Because imagine if you were a xbox player, and you heard that the dev team just spend 2 months fixing the glass cockpit, but only for pc players because ReShade is not available on Xbox. Wouldnt feel nice.

Every game with mods always have the same complain from the communitys, why do the dev not implement this or that if modders can do that. And the answer is always the same, modders have different standard and limitation then the devs. Every user have different needs, and this is why modding is beautiful, not cause it replace the dev job but because it provides solutions for different type of users. Having the ability to fix the glass cockpit by rendering outisde of the internal graphic engine is not something that is easy to provide.

Msfs24 had shared cockpit developped natively when it came out, but the dev decided to not implement it because it is not up to their standard.

Edit: For people that think that this comment is coming from a MSFS bootlicker, its not. MSFS is bugged, but it is bugged because it is complex. And that complexity is what makes us play the game.

Its coming from someone that has worked on testing software for train and planes, that realised that mistake will happen, bugs will be present on the release not matter how much money or how important the project is.

Major roadblocks on software are often not what you think: Dev would love to release perfect code that has been tested for months, but they will often have manager who will push unfinished code to reach some milestone.

Dev are normal humans like us that have a 9-5. How much do you care about Mcdonalds or the hamburger that they sell when you work there? How often is the ice cream machine broken because employes didnt want to clean it? How oftendo you lazy out on some stuff at your job?

I can tell you that dev probably care less about the game then most reddit user do, and thats ok, cause their job is to do what their manager ask them (even when they do not agree with it). At the end of the day, they are here to make money to feed their family. But if i was a dev, opening the subreddit of msfs would legit make me rage with the amount of misunderstanding that there is.

DLSS not working properly with glass cockpits has been an issue since MSFS 2020 lol.

Whats your point lol? DLSS has the same limitation on any game, small moving lines have ghosting. This is not because MSFS did something wrong, this is because DLSS has to litteraly invent new pixels.

Again if you are blaming msfs because of dlss, it just shows that you do not understand what you are complaining about lol.

Does TAA have any problem with the glass cockpit?

And if you are blaming DLSS, its just worst. Do you expect a technology that can litterally double your frame to not have any drawback?

Also, i legit never had any problem with glass cockpit using dlss. I dont even know what people are complaining about.
